The greater Charlotte area is a fabulous place to homeschool.
This website was created with the new homeschooler in mind - to help you get started and find the essential resources you need to successfully homeschool your child. It will also be helpful if you are just considering homeschool as an option for your family or if you are a homeschooler thinking about moving to the Charlotte area.
Homeschoolers in Charlotte make up about 7% of the school age population. Compare this to 4% statwide and 3% nationwide. This makes for a large and diverse homeschooling population and many groups and activities to get involved in. While there seems to be am especially large concentration of homeschooling families in the south Charlotte, Matthews, Mint Hill and Union county area, you can find homeschoolers all over Charlotte and the Fort Mill/Rock Hill, SC area, Gastonia, Huntersville, Harrisburg and beyond.
