Though Frafdo guards this magical fortress, he is away from time to time, since Maxxor depends on him to carry out many important missions in Perim. Yet there is always somebody "at home" in Castle Bodhran. Many OverWorlders stop here when they are traveling in the south, to rest or just to see its remarkable interior. There is a running joke among the OverWorlders that many of the castle's visitors never leave - because they can never find their way out!

Castle Pillar is a vast repository of ancient Perim knowledge, history, and Mugic that has been carved and constructed from one of the UnderWorld's gargantuan pillars. Inside, Creatures find a complicated network of chambers and corridors, built like a huge, 3-D puzzle.

Navigating Castle Pillar is a challenge. Parts of the interior move with gear-like precision, staircases flatten, chambers rotate. There are traps that can only be avoided by solving intricate puzzles. The puzzles grow more challenging as you proceed upward, so that it takes great Wisdom to reach the top of the pillar, the dwelling place of a powerful Mugician. There are also many valuable (and possibly dangerous) secrets stored up there - secrets that must never be revealed to the unwise.

Cordac Falls is one of the great wonders of Perim. A huge river fed by the melting snows of Glacier Plains pour a constant stream of water into a colossal crack in the ground. The force of the falls generates an immense amount of Energy.

There have been many duels fought at Cordac Falls. Creatures from across Perim are drawn to this spot, not only because of the Energy they gain but also because it provides a passage from the OverWorld to the UnderWorld. Owis had a notorious battle here against Ekuud. Both Warriors fought fiercely. After an intense struggle, Owis knocked Ekuud off of the falls with a Telekinetic Bolt. It might have been the end of Ekuud, but the Danian had a Flux Bauble and survived to fight another day.

Crystal Cave is located within Rock River Canyon, in the southwestern part of the OverWorld. The sharp, jutting crystals that give the cave its name can injure battling Creatures or deflect their attacks. Quick reflexes are essential here.

The cave was discovered by Blazier, who was exploring Rock River Canyon in the aftermath of an earthquake. A section of the canyon wall had collapsed during the quake, revealing a cave entrance. Curious, Blazier entered the cave and was amazed by the incredible display of red crystals. Blazier was later attacked at Crystal Cave by Siado, who -- while invisible -- tracked the OverWorlder there. Though badly injured, Blazier luckily had a Song of Resurgence Mugic and restored himself to health.

The Doors of the Deepmines lie in the lowest recesses of the UnderWorld. These ancient doors were constructed to keep out some terrible and mysterious danger. The threat must be serious, because all four Tribes have guards permanently posted here.

Many scholars speculate on what lurks behind the Doors of the Deepmines, but no one knows for sure. The secret has been lost in the mists of time. Warnings carved into the doors are vague but ominous. The guards from each Tribe change regularly. Often, mortal enemies find themselves on duty together. They never fight, however, knowing that such an offense would result in permanent exile. Creatures skilled at Water Attacks gain energy at the Doors of the Deepmines. No one knows why.

Everrain is located in the UnderWorld, directly beneath Lake Ken-i-po. The lake waters constantly drip down into this cavernous space. There are plenty of puddles, along with huge weedy plants and ferns. The skeletal Skreeth makes his home here.

One of the few green spots in the UnderWorld, Everrain was nearly wiped out when a breach opened up in a rock wall and molten magma began pouring into the space from a lava tube. Thankfully, Borth-Majar was passing through Everrain when the catastrophe struck. Mighty in both mind and muscle, Borth-Majar made some quick calculations and then stopped up the gap using a massive stalactite. Everrain and its unique ecosystem were saved, earning Borth-Majar the gratitude of many in the UnderWorld.

This ever-swirling storm is not far from the dismal Gloomuck Swamp. It looms above a barren, craggy, wind-lashed plain. A huge rock formation, shaped like a hand, juts up toward the Eye of the Maelstrom. This is where the Muges of Perim go to sacrifice their Mugic to appease the Maelstrom.

Every five thousand years, a Muge from one of the Tribes creates a new Mugic and carries it to the Eye of the Maelstrom. There, the Mugic is swallowed up into the Eye of the Maelstrom. Some believe the Eye may be a kind of portal connecting Perim and the Cothica and that this ritual must be held or all the Mugic in Perim will lose its power. Others say the ritual is meaningless and based on age-old superstitions. But no one has yet dared to violate the practice.

Fear Valley is south of UnderWorld City, a huge rift that opened up during an ancient earthquake. Mysterious, menacing forces roam freely here. Warriors entering the valley are beset by terrifying visions. The most cowardly Creatures lose Energy.

Kughar is one of the UnderWorlders responsible for patrolling Fear Valley. It is not an easy job. Once, a humongous monster came charging straight at him. Kughar tried to flee, but ran into a dead end. He braced himself, but then the monster vanished. It had all been a vision. A week later, a huge beast again came charging at Kughar. Convinced it was an illusion, he held his ground - and got trampled. Ever since, whenever Kughar sees something scary, he runs first and asks questions later!

The Forest of Life is located in a tropical zone of the OverWorld. It receives abundant rain and sun, so life thrives here. Many plants have developed primitive intelligence and can be dangerous. Creatures need strength when traveling or fighting here.

A squad of UnderWorld invaders once made an assault on The Forest of Life. Their mission was to burn down the forest, in order to lower the life Energy of the entire OverWorld. The invaders stormed in confidently with a convoy of blasting Viledrivers. Their plan was perfect, except for one thing. They never counted on the forest fighting back. What became of the invaders and their mission? The Forest of Life still stands. The UnderWorlders were never seen again.

This massive temple is believed to have been built by a race of giant Creatures that vanished in the remote past. OverWorlders often visit Gigantempopolis because of the valuable treasures and many Mugicians found there.

Laarina discovered Gigantempopolis after traveling through the Forest of Life. Entering the humongous temple, she found many valuable artifacts. As she continued her explorations, Laarina became convinced that the giants who built Gigantempoplis knew how to tap in directly into the Cothica's power. She made the temple her base and dedicated much of her time to unlocking its secrets. Her extensive knowledge of Gigantempopolis makes Laarina the perfect guide to this striking structure.
