Chalandar Farm is nestled in the foothills of the Ozarks, near Buffalo Missouri. We are situated on 40 acres of land, with bottomland and rolling hills. We're in the process of refencing, and improving the 25 acres of pasture. Our ladies are on DHIA testing one day at shows, as my work schedule will not allow me to do it here at home. I strive to breed for correct, elegant, and milky does, without sacrificing the scope and power and majesty that a Nubian should have.
Due to my work schedule, we can only show on a limited basis, however, 2007 started off with a bang! We received the 3rd leg on our Senior Buck, Ch. Longman's LEM Marcus. In limited showing in 2007, we walked away with: Sr. Yearling, Jr. Ch. and dry leg on Fancy, Best: Sr. and Jr. Get of sire (Marcus), produce of dam and dam and daughter (Kara), Best Dairy herd at the Ozark Empire Fair, as well as Jr. Ch. Sr. Yearling on Fancy Pants, (with a dry leg) on another Marcus daughter. 2006 brought us nice placings both with Marcus getting his first two legs at the District 5 Nubian Specialty, and with his daughters placing extremely well in tough competition at the Specialty and at SWMDG spring show, including a dry leg on an Intermediate Kid, Tango. Unfortunately, I had major surgery which left me unable to show for the rest of the 2006.
2008: Showing this summer has been a very exciting time. We have:
2 Ch. legs, her perm. Championship and a 10th place 3 year old placing at the Nationals on Ch. Cream-of-Kansas Rum Solara
2 Ch. Legs, 2 Best Doe in Shows, and a 3rd place 3 yr old placing at the Nationals on Cream-of-Kansas' Rebel Jet.
Several other high placings including: Sr. and Jr. Get of Sire for Marus (Ch. Longman's LEM Marcus), high placings at the fairs for his daughters, Res. Ch. placings on several does. We're mostly finished showing this year, and we are getting ready to work on next years kidding schedules.
*NEWS!* Chalandar Farm is very excited to welcome 10 of the finest Nubians on lease from Cream-of-Kansas' lovely herd. These stunning does will be campaigned with our herd in 2008 and part of 2009. Please check the Cream-of-Kansas page for who has come to visit us! A few kids are already available. Please check with me about them.
Kids are raised on Heat treated colostrum and pasteurized milk. Buck kids do not leave my farm for breeding unless their dam meets my approval where udder, general structure and milk production are concerned. Kids may be reserved for $50. deposit with balance due within 2 weeks of notification of kidding unless other arrangements are made. Please note that in 2009, buck kids will be dam raised unless pre-ordered. Kids will be shipped upon arrangement or may be picked up on the farm. Thank you for your interest!
