Meeting Held:  10/28/03

 

 

Donations:

  • Received donation of sound system from Hastings.
  • Received donation of storage building from Cynthia Outlaw – Phillip Hastings suggested renting trailer from Jimmy Goad in El Dorado at an approximate cost of $15.00 to move the building to school property.
  • Flat screen computer monitor from the McMahens.

 

King Arthur:  (unfinished business)

  • Need to pay Hancock Fabrics bill of $141.36.
  • Tracy Reynolds will send thank-you notes to sponsors and those who helped with the production.  Gary Hall will provide a list.
  • Gary Hall reported that the cast enjoyed the wrap party at Allen’s.

 

Narnia:

  • Christa Johnson will publicize upcoming Narnia performances in newspaper, Cardinal channel and Cam-Tel Community channel and will reserve Community Board for 11/30/03 through 12/08/03.
  • Bea Siggers will design the board for placement on the Community Board.
  • Kathy McMahen will send letters to area Churches and Nursing Homes promoting Narnia.  Groups of 20 or more will be offered a discounted price of $3.00 / ticket.
  • Ads for Narnia program are due by 11/25/03 with the prices being the same as the King Arthur program.  A $5.00 discount will be given to businesses or individuals wishing to place an ad in the next two programs.  Example  $20.00 1/4 page  $35.00 if want to be in next two programs, $35.00 1/2 page  $65.00 if want to be in next two programs, $50.00 full page  $95.00 if want to be in next two programs 
  • Plan visit to the Intermediate School by cast members in costume and provide Narnia coloring sheets for Fairview Elementary and Ivory Primary students.
  • Plan possible performance for Middle School students.  Lana Fisher will contact MS Principal Rodney Williams.

 

General:

  • Financial report was given.
  • Kathy McMahen has set up a web page for the Thespian/Drama Group.  She asked for photos to place on the site.
  • Gary Hall reported that the masonite purchased for King Arthur was a big help with the sound and acoustic problem in the theater.
  • Gary Hall reported that the International Thespian Festival will be held in Lincoln, NE next summer.  The approximate cost will be $400.00/child.  Fundraisers will need to be planned to help with the cost.
  • Lana Fisher will contact Ted Barnes about designing a long sleeve T-shirt for the Thespian Troupe. 
  • Christmas Party - Progressive Dinner planned for 12/18/03 with appetizers at Gary Hall’s, dinner at Allen’s or First Baptist Church, and dessert and Dirty Santa game at Bea Siggers’.
