news in 23 october 2006:

i fixed a nasty bug in my tool wich would only port the diffuse and alpha settings of a special type of materials in 3dsmax which is available in the plugins to import a specific game, i completly forgot about making it port such settings from standard 3dsmax materials, which now i hope it's fixed. Here's the new version 1.2.1

news in 16 october 2006:

Even tough i spent a few months without working on ase2asc, i just finished it in a single weekend, here's what's new in the new ase2asc 1.2.0 version (click the name to download)  :

- supports the porting and conversion of 'ambient'/'diffuse' colors to 'true color' setting in .mat files (if 'ambient' and 'diffuse' colors differ, a 'special_materials.txt' log file with the materials with that situation will be created, and no diffuse color will be applyed in this case, you will have to solve that by yourself, since carma2 only supports this to change the color of a texture)

- recognizes alpha setting in materials (translucency) and creates a brand new .pix file with alpha channel for those materials which don't use a texture file (for example to create glasses or any material with only diffuse and alpha settings without using texture files initially). This is NOT supported for materials associated to texture files, which names and alpha setting will be indicated in the 'special_materials.txt' log file).

- added a toggle to automatically overwrite already existing files

- added tooltiptexts in almost all controls, check them out when having doubts

- a few minor bug fixes

news in 29 april 2006:

The ase to asc tool is finally finished, and is really almost about to be released in the next days ! Of course that meanwhile i restarted working in the pt2mod.

news in 5 december 2005 :

now i am mostly working in a super tool in vb6 to help people import .asc files with textures in Pt2 ! So, at the moment my pt2 mod is again temporarly stopped, but it will be resumed soon don't worry.

news in 19 semptember 2005 :

These are some screenshots of two of the dialog boxes already FINISHED and ready to use in Pt2aux, but the first one isn't finished yet :

This one above it's the one that it's not finished yet (but in about 15 days it will be finished, as it's already about 60% coded), that's the one i am working at the moment. This one is usefull to, for example, to replace objects with coordinates taken from a .txt file, like, for example, the powerups in Carma1 tracks ! And many other things...

And this one took a LONG time to finish but it's finally done : now it fully supports both zipped or unzippped prefab packs, it's able to load the extracted prefab into Plaything2 by itself (without macro programs as my vb6 program is able to do macros itself!). This one sure was a LOT of work, but was worth it, as i already tried importing a prefab into a track and it was much faster and better to import a prefab!

This last one is finished too : a browser of the installed prefabs in a track. Note that the screnshot is the same that appears when installing prefabs. This is also able to detect if the prefab's textures are being used in the track or not.

As you all see, it's going well, lets hope this mod is finished at least in this year and this time definetly!

news in 08 semptember 2005 :

Last weekend finally i could make a HUGE update and i worked several hours in the coding and now the mod is about 70%-80% finished ! I think i did in the last weekend much more than i did almost all the year ago! Anyways it's looking pretty good, specially the prefab librarys dialog boxes, it now supports each prefab compressed in zip or uncompressed. Also it creates a log file for each prefab installed in a track, and also provides a browser of installed prefabs to help you choose which ones you want to remove, including the showing of the screenshot of each prefab! Just keep checking this website, now the release of this best version ever is almost coming out, as now i am motivated again and willing to start making my first track that's why in the last week this project took a HUGE advance...

news in 24 may 2005 :

and again i say i quit nothing yet. It's just that sometimes i work a lot in bursts, so sometimes i don't do anything for about 3 months, and then sometimes in just a week i do more than i could do for a whole month or two ! So i quit nothing yet.

But i have BIG NEWS : finally i learned so much about Visual basic 6 that i am now able to REPLACE the macro express program, which means that it will not be needed anymore Macro Express to have macros on Plaything, this will save a lot of work that many people complain about using macros, as now EVERYTHING will be done by my vb6 program, Pt2 auxiliary program which can now do macro functions just like those in Macro Express, so we get macro functions WITHOUT all that long list of limitations !!

Now it won't be anymore excuses about not using the macros version because of a comercial program named Macro Express and no more a long list of limitations to follow!

But of course i have just now learned those advanced functions in visual basic 6 now it will take about 1 month to write this new version, so keep checking this website as now it's being updated again, and of course all my tools will be also updated with better functions, thanks to all the advanced stuff i learned in vb6 !!

DOWNLOADS :

(NOT AVAILABLE YET)  Plaything2 mod 3.0 Build 1 VB6 Macros version -  this is now about 70% finished, a macros version WITHOUT any external program (except the vb6 program i am doing) and without all those limitations ! And so far everything's being ok, except a few limitations, like some global keys give some problems.

(AVAILABLE) Pixies P16/P08 Packer/unpacker 2.0 - (update : there will be a update to this program soon thanks to the tons of new stuff i just learned in vb6!) - This is a kind of remake (well i had to start from scratch) of the program "Pixies Maker v.0.3" but now it can do both packing and unpacking of pixies.p16 files. Now i can start making the prefab packs (which aren't too difficult to do). This program will be also very usefull to the users pack the generated pix16 files by Pt2/Carma2 in a track and then running any user tracks in twt format, and making the hard drive faster, as much less files are readed, and maybe also the track will load faster packed in twt format.

(AVAILABLE!) Carma2 internal Cheats Editor 1.0 - This is a program to hack the carma2_hw.exe file to switch the strings of each cheat that we have to type inside the game ! Very usefull to associate short strings as WETWET or HOTASS to the cheat IWISHICOULDFLYRIGHTUPTOTHESKY !! And specially to see the ULTRA SECRET cheat that Carma2 have hidden : STELL GONAD-OH-DEATH in which our car becomes... a Ball !! But please try the program and READ the readme.txt file first !!! I also lost the sources of this program so it can't be updated also. (Unfortunately to this one it won't ever be updated as i lost the source code of it)
