Here is a list of the many programs and activities offered here at Cephas. If you'd like more information, please feel free to contact the office, by telephone or by e-mail. To view a calendar of events scheduled in our church community this week, click here.THE LORD'S SUPPER is celebrated seven times a year: in January, March, May, July, September, and November, as well as during our Good Friday service. All who have publicly professed their faith are invited to take part.
NURSERY: A well-equipped nursery is staffed with 2-3 babysitters during the morning worship service for children up to 3 years of age.
CHILDREN'S CHURCH: for young children aged 3 - grade 3, held during the morning worship services throughout the school year.
COFFEE SOCIAL: held each week after the morning worship service in the Fellowship Hall. Families from the congregation are assigned to organize the social each week.
POTLUCK LUNCHES: held every time there is a fifth Sunday in the month. All welcome. Hosted by our membership neighbourhoods in rotation.
LIBRARY: Cephas has a well-stocked library of Christian books, music tapes and CDs, and videos that are available for loan. The library is open after the morning worship service and during office hours.
MUSIC: we offer a number of venues for those wishing to share their musical talent. Our worship elder, Clayton Ibey, encourages and organizes our many gifted vocalists and instrumentalists.
CD MINISTRY: Every worship service is recorded and is available upon request from our church secretary, or from our audio booth personnel. (A copy can be purchased for $2.)
CADETS: for boys (ages 8 through 13): Bible study, projects and lots of special events. Wednesday, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting The Saviour): for girls (grades 2 through 8). Badgework, Bible study, music, and special outings. Wednesday, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
YOUNG PEOPLE: for boys and girls, grades 7 through 12. Bible study, access to social activities, learning, volunteer options and special events -- all in a friendly environment that nurtures spiritual growth. "MARY AND MARTHA" LADIES SOCIETY: Bible study and special interest topics. All ladies are welcome. We meet every other Tuesday, starting at 9:30 a.m.
LADIES AUXILIARY: the membership is made up of all the women in the congregation. The group is actively involved in other areas of service in the congregation
CARE NETWORK: members make visits to the sick and shut-ins; a knitted gift is brought to new mothers; meals and babysitting services are offered to needy families; and much more.
FRIENDSHIP GROUP: for our special friends (those with developmental disabilities from the community and Christian Horizons), who are paired with members of our church, Living Hope CRC, Eastern Pentecostal Bible College and other adults from the community. The program includes singing, Bible stories, crafts and refreshments. Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m.
BACK TO GOD MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL: our church serves as a local contact point for their ministries in radio, television, and other media. For more information, visit their website here.

YOUNG@HEART: for retirees, meeting at Cephas on the first Thursday per month, jointly with Living Hope CRC.
PRAYERNET: members receive (and keep confidential) prayer requests, petitioning God on the behalf of the person making the request.
MARRIAGES, PROFESSIONS OF FAITH, and BAPTISMS take place whenever the Lord gives occasion.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL (VBS) is held one week each summer in August. VBS is a free-of-cost outreach program for children aged kindergarten through Grade 8. Our members are encouraged to bring friends, neighbours and family members to this five day event. Crafts, snacks, games, singing and stories telling the good news of Christ are all part of the program. A special event on the Thursday evening features a presentation in which all the children and teachers take part, for the enjoyment of the families.
LABOUR DAY WEEKEND SERVICE, is a combined service which is held on the Sunday morning at 10:30am at the Living Hope Christian Reformed Church – our sister church.
Our annual CHRISTMAS CANDLELIGHT SERVICE, in which all of our church programs take part, is scheduled for the Sunday night before Christmas.
