Central KY Beagle Club was founded in 1988. It moved to the current location in Logan Hubble Park in 1995 . A proud member of the MidWest Beagle Gundog Association. It's members have won and placed in trials from Maine to Texas. Ran in SPO on Rabbit to Large Pack on Hare trails and been successful, this pays great compliments to the hounds of club members and the MWBGA.
The object of the association is to: ....encourage and promote the breeding of AKC registered beagles and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection, and to promote said beagles as hunting hounds." This idea has caught the interest of many beaglers across the country and is regarded highly by them for the commitment to strive for excellence in the total beagle. The number of member clubs have grown steadily through the years to 18. Those clubs span across 8 states consisting of: Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, & Southern West Virginia. The emphasis has been on quality not quantity in clubs and entries. The proof of the quality of the "Midwest" hound is our hounds not only winning in our own association, but them winning and placing from Canada to the Louisiana and several points in between as well. If the association can keep the support among its club's and the commitment for excellence, we should prosper for several years to come.
Through the years Central KY Beagle Club has had the opportunity to have had many outstanding members and hounds as a part of its club. Also the club has been blessed with many great hounds performing at its trials. As an AKC licensed club it holds two SPO on rabbit trials per year and a MidWest All-Age Qualifier as well as a Derby trial. One licensed trial is held in the Spring and one in the Fall.
