Club Secretary Jayne Armitage kindly provided the following information.
"May 2005 saw the club awarded with the BG Gym Mark. To achieve this we as a club had to provide evidence to BG that the club met certain standards. We had to show that the Committee had clearly defined roles, were committed to child protection, and that we had nominated Welfare Officers.
The club had to have met training needs and provide minimum training times for all members.
Coaches and officals had to dig deep into their files to find all certificates relevant to their training and any courses tha they had completed. The folder was expanding rapidly!
The Regional Development Officer made frequent visits to advise, and to check that the information we were providing was being put into practice. Fortunately everything met the requirements.
Central Galaxy now joined a small list of trampoline and gymnastic clubs that have the coveted Gym Mark. However, we cannot afford to rest on our laurels, as we have to continue on a yearly basis to prove that we are meeting the required standards and that our development plan continues to benefit the club.
We stand proud that all the hard work put in by the coaches, volunteers and trampolinists has been recognised! We also realise that BG will recommend clubs with Gym Mark over others to potential members."
Everyone at the club thanks Jayne for all the hard work she has put in to enable the club to achieve this recognition.
JUST A NOTE: We have been awarded the Gym Mark again for this year. The hard work is ongoing, we have to re-apply each year to British Gymnastics.
