BREAKING NEW! Download the Competitors Log Book here!
As many of you will already have noticed, there are some major changes being implemented within Trampoline/DMT this year.
The changes to the competition structure have already started for those competing DMT. DMT has grown as a sport within the Trampoline scene and to accommodate this all Grade 1/2 Gala competition weekends will now also include DMT. The major changes will be the introduction of just 2 age groups, U15 and O15 with separate groups for girls and boys. Instead of Grades 1 and 2, there will now be 3 levels; FIG 'A', FIG 'B' and National 'C'. These fall into line with International competitions. Levels at regional competitions will be different; I will come to those later.
Along with the group changes, there are now qualifying 'scores' for Nationals, and a system of point scoring has been introduced. This is quite complicated, and will take some time for us all to get to grips with. If you do not understand anything please ask your Coach for help!
A copy of the handbook for DMT is available to download (see below).
Within Trampolining, the major changes will not come into play until October 2008. As with DMT the grade you compete at will change. Current grade 1/2 competitors will compete at either FIG 'A' (Mens & Ladies), FIG 'B' (G1 - age groups) or National 'C' (G2). The grade you compete in will be determined by your current grade, ability to compete set routine and your coach. Most of you will by now have seen the new set routines for all grades. A copy of the new routines is also available to download.
A change being implemented for current G1/2 competitions is with regard to qualifying/retaining scores. To be able to compete at National 'C' in 2009, you will need to achieve a minimum score of 50.0 at any G2 competition in 2008. This is for ALL age groups. In Grade 1 there is NO set score requirement for Nationals qualification. To compete at FIG'B' in 2009 you must achieve a score of 52.0; again this is for ALL age groups. To compete at FIG 'A' in 2009, you must have achieved the qualifying score of 55.5 in your age group to be eligible to compete at Mens & Ladies, and finish in the top 50% in M&L. Only M&L will have zero finals.
Synchronised trampoline has also been included in the G1/2 gala weekends. As with DMT there will be only the 2 age groups; U15 and O15. The top ranked 8 pairs in each group will be invited to compete in the National finals.
Something else you will need to be clear on is with regard to the completion of your Tariff sheet. If you compete at U17/U19/O19 Grade 1/2 you will be required to star * your compulsory moves. There are 3 at G2 and 4 at G1. Remember, it is the responsibility of the competitor and not the coach to ensure their tariff sheet is correct; you may find yourself being penalised if it is wrong! It is preferable that you complete your tariff sheet at a training session prior to the competition. Tariff Sheets are also available to download from this page.
Please note: The handbook is in Adobe Acrobat or pdf format. DMT starts on page 33. There will be a new handbook out in 2009.
