january 2006

26th: first version of the website is up and running. we are quite excited about all this. hopefully you'll all enjoy. more info coming later.

february 2006

7th: the release of the jars' first signing, siya sar, is nearing. also, label head mikkel andersen is - with help from brad dixon - releasing some old  work under the moniker chapel soil tunnel soon.

16th: celestial jars are proud to present a real celebrity treat for you. none other than armpit hailing from new zealand has agreed to release 'underwater love' on the label in the near future.

17th: the chapel soil tunnel album - the very first release on celestial jars - has been  released today! we spent the whole night designing, printing and gluing and 'tongue and song' now exists in thirty copies. ordering can be done here.

22nd: yet another artist has joined the list of upcoming celestial jars releases - this time it's marianne nowottny we welcome. the upcoming release will consist of three solo zheng improvisations and two live tracks featuring mark of abaton book company and stephen connolly of pothole skinny. we are very excited of the response we've been receiving to this idea of ours and glad that so many of you like it. as always; anything on your mind - write us an e-mail.

7th: a lot has happened since the last update! the chapel soil tunnel-release is almost sold out from our shop, so hurry if you want to get hold of celestial jars' first release. otherwise it is now also available from boa melody bar!

25th: we have been extremely busy as of late - sorry about the lack of updates on the site. it's not like nothing has happened though: the chapel soil tunnel-release is completely sold out from our catalogue, but is still available from boa melody bar and soon also eclipse mailorder. we're both happy and proud about the huge interest in our first release. thanks! speaking of releases, one more cd-r is on the way - this time from fellow scandinavians bjerga / iversen. on the other hand, due to personal matters, the siya sar-cdr is cancelled.

12th: hello all! celestial jars has awoken from its summer hiatus with high school graduations, vacations, (laziness), dates and the endless search for jobs and places to live. we hadn't expected the break to last more than four months, but well, it did. but here we are - back and happy to announce great things coming your way: 1) new release! marianne nowottny's "springtime of desire" is celestial jars' second release. more info here - and as always order it from our catalogue. 2) a celestial jars compilation is added to our list of upcoming releases - it's called "the crests of the avians dance to our vibes" and features artists like valerio cosi, seht, north sea, terracid, brothers of the occult sisterhood + many more. be excited, be very excited! with our current speed of releasing cd-r's it should be out in about 2010. 3) label head mikkel andersen has a release out on ruralfaune (cool label - check it out!) and there's still a couple of copies left, so if anyone is interested, send an e-mail to him at mikkel@phillip.se! oh, all the exclamation marks! please bear with us, it's summer. we're glad to be back! enjoy the sun!
