Well another year over. First of all we need to say a big THANK YOU to all the club members and non-members who helped ensure the smooth running of this the 22nd annual cavalcade. Please give yourselves a pat on the back if you can reach, if you cannot reach get some one else to pat your back you did a brilliant job.
This years cavalcade saw more than 250 motorcycles, trikes and cars entered in the show. The day started off a bit gloomy and continued like that for most of the day but that didn't stop the bikes from turning up by the cart load and sometimes by the van load.
At the start of the day the number of bikes coming in as entrants was steady away with a sudden influx at around 11am when the majority of the road run arrived. The people of the gate did a magnificent job sorting out the traffic coming in off the road and then sorting the vehicles out between paid late entries, non-paid late entries, pre-booked entrants and spectators. Well done ladies and gents. Over the day the number or people coming in through the gate eased off some the ladies and gents of the gate could have a wander around for a change as most years they do get the chance.
The autojumble this year had a fair few stalls selling all types of bits and bobs that could keep most autojumble fans as happy as pigs in mud. Well done Jack and Chris for getting the autojumble sorted.
During the day we had displays from two groups of majorettes, a local brass band and a bloke with some birds (calm yourselves people they were birds of prey not the type of birds you lot are thinking of). All of these attractions gave the visiting public something else to do during the day as apparently some people dont like to go out for the day and just look at motorcycles, there are some strange folk about isn't there.
The judging was completed by around 3ish and the presentation of prizes commenced soon afterwards. Some of the entrants who won prizes deceided to go home early due to about 2 minutes of rain and missed out on their trophy being presented. Here is a list of all the winners and runners up.
