DVB talked to U Aye Tha Aung, the secretary of Committee for Representing People’s Parliament (CRPP) on his view on resumption of the National Convention.
“The current political situation is in a quite difficult situation on the path of national reconciliation. It is not a good sign. As for the country’s situation – political, economical and social affairs and all others are deteriorating. Therefore, on the deteriorating situation, if the government is doing things own its own will, the situation would not only be bad as now, we can already see the calamitous consequences in the future. For this, what we want to demand the SPDC is – consult especially with national forces. Discuss with them. Solve the problems and work for the benefits of the future of the country. I want to urge this.”
“The constitution which is written down bilaterally would not lead the country onto a democratic path. We won’t be able to build the national unity or the ethnic national unity. Therefore, if we cannot do this, the future of the country’s economical, political, social and educational needs could not be fulfilled and moreover, we could witness worse problems. In this situation, we want to say that the responsibility would be solely on the SPDC."
