RULES OF PLAY
- We play three types of tournaments at Comic Chest, UNLIMITED, MODIFIED, and LIMITED.
- UNLIMTED FORMAT - May contain cards from any and all Pokemon trading card game sets that have been released in the United States, as well as promotional cards. New sets are allowed as soon as the product has been released.
- MODIFIED - May contain cards from the following pokemon trading card game sets: Exedition, Aquapolis, Skyridge, EX Ruby & Sapphire, EX Sandstorm, Dragon, Team Magma & Aqua, Hidden Legends, any sets after Hidden Legends, and promo cards numbered 001 and higher. With the exception of basic Energy cards and cards that have appeared in current sets, players may not use cards of older sets in this format.
- LIMITED - decks contain only 40 cards and are not limited to 4 of any single card. This format is played with 4 prizes instead of 6, and is played when drafting 6 boosters and building a deck from the cards received. Energy cards are provided.
- BANNED CARDS - promotional "Ancient Mew" and Birthday Pikachu.
- All decks must have 60 cards with no more of 4 of any single card except basic Energy cards. A card is defined by the name of the card. [example: you can only have 4 cards named "Pikachu" no matter what set they are from in one deck but you can have 4 "Lt. Surge's Pikachu" and 4 "Pikachu" in the same deck.].
