Professor Chauncey Clemenceau sat at his large wooden desk and waited for the students to arrive. Since this was only his second lesson with the first years, there were still many new faces that Chauncey didn't recognize. He thought to himself how he must make an extra effort to get to know each student by the end of the week. Once the students had all taken their seats, he looked around the room with a large smile and said:
"Good afternoon students! I have got a wonderful lesson planned for you today, and since it's a double session of potions today you will have plenty of time to get in your lab today. Do I have a volunteer?"
He peered around the room and not a hand shot up.
"Ok, don't all volunteer at once. How about you!"
He said pointing to a boy in the back of the room. The boy walked to the front of the classroom and stood in front of the professor.
"Hold out your arm please." Said Prof. Clemenceau.
The boy looked a bit nervous, but held his arm out anyways.
Prof. Clemenceau aimed his wand at the boys wand and said very clear: "DIVIESO!"
Immediately from the point where the wand touched the boys arm boils started to grow and spread all over his arm. The boy had a look of horror on his face. One moment ago, his arm was fine and not it was covered in gross boils.
"P.. P... P... Prof... Professor! What did you do to my arm?" Asked the boy with terror in his voice.
He did not answer the boy, instead he walked up the to front of the room then used his wand to magically write:
'Boil Cure Potion Ingredients
When he completed writting this on the board he turned to the class and spoke.
"Today, we will be brewing the Boil Cure Potion. This young man has been stricken with boils. So, before the class is up, we will use a potion to remove them without any pain."
Prof. Clemenceau walked over to his cauldron and aimed his wand at the fire and it lit without him even saying the words.
"I will begin my class today with instructions on how to brew the potion, then you will take the remaining period to brew the potion yourself."
He pointed his wand at the cauldron and water magically appeared without him saying any words.
"Ah, by the way. Once you take your O.W.L.s in your 5th year, you will learn non-verbal charms. I believe this term, Prof. Prufrock is instructing that course. Back on topic... I will first add water, almost 75% of potions begin with water. Next, I will prepare the ingredients."
Prof. Clemenceau took a few containers and bags off of a shelf in the back part of his storage closet. He opened the glass jar and removed 3 snake fangs and he used a large stone crusher to smash the fangs.
"The rest of the ingredients are ready to begin. I will begin by taking the dried nettles and pooring them into the caudron. Now, this is extremely important, so pay close attention. I will stir the cauldron three times clockwise then lift the spoon out for exactly 4.2346 seconds. After the short break, I will enter the spoon back into the liquid handle first. Stir the cauldron 5.12 times counter clockwise. It's extremely important that these numbers are exact."
Prof. Clemenceau did just as you said and the potion began to fume with a lime green smoke.
"Perfect!" Said Prof. Clemenceau with excitement. "Now, poor the crushed snake fangs into the stewed horned slugs phial. Put the cork back on the phial and shake well." He did just as he said and the phial contents turned orange. "Ok, the next step is to poor the contents of this phial into the cauldron as fast as you can."
As he poored the phial contents into the cauldron it began to hiss and shoot sparks out.
"Ok, as you can see, the faster you do this the better it is for your health. Finally, we must lift the cauldron off the fire and add the porcupine quills to the mixture only AFTER the cauldron's been removed from the fire. If you add the quills before it's been removed it could mean sudden death."
He removed the cauldron and placed it on a hot pad on his desk. He then opened a bag and poored the contents of the bag into the cauldron that was off the fire.
"Oh, the potion is complete. This isn't a pretty looking potion, but it works immediately."
Prof. Clemenceau poored the contests of the cauldron into a phial.

Prof. Clemenceau handed the boy that had boils all over him the phial.
"Bottoms up!" Said Prof. Clemenceau as he checkled at the look of the boys face when he saw what the potion looked like.
He then turned to the class and whipped out his wand. He cleared his throat and his mind and yelled: "DIVIESO!" Instantly all the students in the room had boils all over their body. Everyperson BUT Prof. Clemenceau was completely covered in boils.
"Oops... Well well, I hope you all paid attention. You have 30 minutes to make this potion before you have to be laughed at by students in other classes. The bell will ring in 30 minutes! Get moving!" Prof. Clemenceau had to contain himself because he was bubbling over with laughter.
After 30 minutes the bell rang and Prof. Clemenceau yelled: "REMEMBER STUDNETS! YOU MUST COMPLETE THE HOMEWORK ON THE BOARD BEFORE OUR NEXT CLASS!"
For lab work today, please brew the Boil Cure Potion, remember this is your first brewing of potions you've ever done, so I want to see at least 1 or 2 huge (but commical) mistakes. Remember too that you're still covered in boils and before you leave the class when the bell rings you need to have a potion that removes the boils, or in some cases removes the boils but adds something else. Remember the more creative and humorous your brewing is the higher points you will receive!
