If you haven't already seen the famous and excellent best t.v program of the year, Prison break you should watch it! It's about a guy (Michael Scofield) and his brother, Lincoyln Burrows. It all starts when Lincolyn is framed into a murder he didn't commit and he is due to get executed on the electric chair in a few months. Michael a good engineer, has to get into fox river and break him out! It's awesome. For those who have watched season 1, i'm watching season 2! Yes, that's right, the one thats not out yet! If you wan't me to spoil it for you then post in the comments section! Webmasters i bet your wondering how to generate hits!
Well have i got some tips for you:
1. Post your link and ask for a link exchange with people in guestbooks
2. Do the same aproach by emailing them or filling in a form.
3. Submit to search engines google, yahoo, msn and ask jeeves should be a must don't worry about programs that say 'SUBMIT TO OVER A MILLION SEARCHENGINES' them millionare yet to be discoved and who uses them? Stick to the popular ones!
4. Subit to directories like the odp (dmoz.org) yahoo directory, google directory but not link farms that collect a bundle of links and put them in any category with thousands of sites there these seriously damage your search engine ranking.
5.Use <meta> tags like discriptions and alt tags also don't forget title tags.
6. Make a mailing list, bravenet provides one for free so subscribers can forward it to there mates remember to encourage them to do so. Also remember don't spam or buy emails or sell them and always provide a unsubscribe option on every newsletter.
7. Use pay per click campaigns or sponsered advertising by search engines like msn, yahoo, ask jeeves and google.
8. Don't waste your money on small websites that aren't proffesional theres plenty of them out there.
9. Don't link to linkfarms or sites that aren't related to yours or that have a low pagerank download the google toolbar to find out more about pagerank.
10. Use rss (really simple syndication) to notify users of updates. Search engines like this and remember to update frequently.

Also one last thing don't trick search engines this invloves cloaking (cbsenterprise does it), hiding keywords and spamming search engines to get a better pagerank you'll just get banned from search engines and loose hits altogether.
