a Safe Haven for rabbits in need
Trails End Rabbit Refuge is a Sanctuary for special needs, senior, mistreated, and unwanted rabbits. We are a Non-Profit Organization working to provide the best possible care for our Sanctuary rabbits, and also to help promote responsible rabbit guardianship and treatment.
Recently, the Barrie SPCA seized over 300 rabbits being bred for meat. The case is still under investigation. 23 of the rescued rabbits arrived at the Sanctuary recently. To read about them, visit here.
Spring at the Sanctuary...
Spring is one of the busiest times of year at the Sanctuary. We have a barn to finish, housing to construct, gardens to plant, fences to build, and of course it's time for spring cleaning! Please have a look at our wishlist and see if you can help us by making a donation towards our building needs, or donating something from our wishlist you may have just lying around. We are always in need of blankets, safe rabbit toys, and water bottles.
Rabbit Guardianship is a 10 year commitment. A well cared for and loved rabbit can enjoy a long and healthy life. They are not a short term, easy pet to keep. Please don't buy a rabbit on impulse and add to the number of many homeless rabbits. Let's make Responsible Rabbit Guardianship the ONLY kind.
Domestic rabbits CANNOT survive in the wild - Never set your companion rabbit loose thinking he will be able to survive in the wild. All they will be is an easy meal to the nearest predator.
