Victory for the Cavaliers City team against Cavaliers Norbury in the 3rd Cavaliers Challenge Cup match - 24 July 2009

It was only a matter of time before the Cavaliers City team beat its Norbury counterpart in the Cavaliers Challenge Cup (CCC).  After two straight wins for the Norbury team in closely fought contests it was 3rd time lucky for Cavaliers City as the President led the city team to a penalty win to bring the CCC back to its rightful home north of the river and secure bragging rights for the next 14 weeks.  Well done city team and semper hebdomas proxima to the Norbury lads.  Well played City and good show Norbury, chin up lads you really did try your best!

A new team - the Cavaliers in the City

There have been some big changes at the Cavaliers Football Club over the past couple of months.  The Cavaliers Empire has grown with a new team playing in Division 5 of the City Powerleague on Wednesday evenings.   The Cavaliers City team was quick to add some new signings to the squad with Johnny Webb and Chris Volume making their debuts in season 1.  Fans favourite ‘Big Fun’ a.k.a Justin Funnell has returned after a four year sabbatical to spread the Cavaliers ‘total football’ ethos to the Balkans.  His job done there he can now be seen back scoring goals for the C’s at the Worship Street ground.  The Cavaliers will continue to field a team in the Norbury Powerleague on a Tuesday evening – and we can report that both C’s teams are currently going from strength to strength!

There has also been a big shake up behind the scenes at the C’s.  James Lambert has stood down as club Captain to take on the new office of Cavaliers Club President.  Iyad Paloba has taken on the role of Captain of the Norbury team and Mark Camilletti Captain of the City side.    Good luck to both C’s teams for the seasons ahead!

City Team - New Player of the Season Trophy

The Cavalier's City team today unveiled its new Player of the Seaon Trophy which will be awarded to one lucky Cavalier at the end of the team's first season in January 2009.  The trophy is enscribed with the new club motto 'Semper hebdomas proxima' which translated from Latin means 'there is always next week'.

Thatcher reenactment ends in tragedy

Tuesday 22nd of August - Norbury Powerleague.

It was an event that shocked football.  An event that was unparalleled in our time when, founding Cavalier Rodney Dacombe (28) lost a leg when fellow teammate Mark Camilletti (12) decided to reenact the tragic challenge made by Ben Thatcher 24 hours later.

The game started innocently enough, and players were in high spirits due to Mr. Camilletti performing in his last game before going to New Zealand with partner Sarah (34-24-34).  However joy turned to sorrow when after celebrating his first goal ever, Mark celebrated by hacking into Mr. Dacombe with all of the power that he had, an act he saw the day after by Manchester City leftback Ben Thatcher.  The scythed limb  went flying through the air with a rainbow of blood, only for Captain James Lambert (69) to catch with superb precision.  Mr. Camilletti immediately regretted his hasty actions, but it was too late for Mr. Dacombe, who was forced to join Def Leppard the following day.

Mr. Camilletti will soon be exiled to the colonies at the start of October.

The new kit has arrived

New Signing - Kevin Dacombe

For the past few months the C's have been Dacombeless.  In a bid to rectify this problem, top management decided it was time to bring in fresh blood.  Kevin has been on trial a number of times before with the Cavaliers, but had yet to find any real success with the club.  But scouts always had one eye on the talented youngster, and the club were proud to announce their new signing.  "Kevin is the start of a brand new era for the mighty C's" Club Captain James Lambert said yesterday.  "It's been difficult times recently, yet we feel that with these new signings, we could be challenging for Division 5 this season".  "If he's half the player of his older brother (C's Rodney Dacombe), their in trouble" said an Cavaliers insider.

Mark takes one for the team

To be a true athlete, you must fight through that pain barrier.  Everyone has their own limit, but there is one area where every man has a similar threshold.  Mark reached that threshold on Tuesday 15th of November 2005.

Out with the old...

Cavaliers F.C. have always been on the front battlelines of fashion at Norbury Powerleague.  After two years in their current togs, it's about time for a change in kit.  Although things are still very much in the preliminary stages, we at Mighty C's website have managed to get our hands on an exclusive scoop of the frontrunning design (right;  Yellow and Black)

Cavaliers vs. Cavaliers

Mulligans Cavaliers Pool Team, who play in the Southport and District Pool League, have challenged the Mighty C’s to a dual header of sporting challenges.  Pool and Football, a mixture of both cool headed skill and physical exertion!  Being the Renaissance men that they are, the Southern C’s will accept this challenge, and admire/amazed by the MC’s determination to travel to London to do so.  One can’t help but imagine the spectacle and awe of seeing the Norbury Powerleague for the first time?

There's a voice, that keeps on calling me...

Truly a sad day for cavaliers as long term, midfield psychotic, Richard Carr has turned away from the Cavaliers.  Just like the Littlest Hobo he hung around long enough to oversee the improvement of the C's, but just when we all fall in love with his deep blue eyes, he heads off to bring happiness to other children.  The ankle biting enthusiast has decided to concentrate on the music field, where his crazy jazz stylings are starting to get some professional attention.  We at the C's obviously wish him the best of luck for the future, and maybe see him backing M People one day.

Captain Lambert out with debilliatating foot injury

Cavaliers Captain, James Lambert (27), has been ruled out of tonights game due to an severe injury.  An in-growing toenail has stopped him from attending the match against Kayess.  We hope he feels better soon and wsh his friends and family well through what must be a difficult time.

Lambert takes haliborange to improve sexual performance!

In a sensational admission, Cavaliers FC Captain James Lambert has stunned his teammates by revealing that he was tempted into taking vitamin supplements to improve his performance in the bedroom.  Lambert, 26, admitted taking the drug, but denied it was to enhance his performance, has maintained that he was drawn to the invogorating power of the orange powder.

He said in the Daily Mirror: "I am not hooked on drugs. I categorically deny this.

"The only reason I took what I took was because I wanted to improve my sexual performance. "It may be funny but it is true. I did not take Sanatogen. I took something to make me feel good."

Cavaliers continue to play at highest level!

Despite finishing bottom of Division 6 at Norbury Powerleague, the Mighty C’s will continue to play professional football next season, through a mixture of technicalities, persuasion and confusion.

Cavaliers have struggled this season on paper, with terrible performances against local rival Beavers standing out in particular.  This is of course unfortunate, and doesn’t tell the true story of the season.  Although plagued by severe injuries, Cavaliers have been unlucky not to win more games.  Players have improved immensely, but this has not been shown on the score sheet.  It has not gone unnoticed by the league however, as crisis talks were held last week ensuring Norbury’s most popular side did not drop out of the league.

As fans and other clubs rejoiced at the chance to see quality football again next season, it has not gone down with the team expecting promotion.  “Long and dangly” who finished top of Division 7 last season have been denied a chance at playing at a higher level.  It has been recorded officially by the league as due to insufficient “cool”.  This is of course not a precedent, as cosmetic restrictions have been used many times before to deny promotion, as one just has to look at Falkirk in 2003, Stevenage Borough in 1996, and Neil Kinnock in 1992.

Cavaliers F.C. deny affair

After last Sunday's report in the News of the World, the Mighty C's have made a statement regarding the star defender.

"We have spoken to the player over the weekend, and can confirm that the he has not had any relations with Faria Alam!  He flatly denies the allegations, and we can only ask that his private life to be respected.  This is just another case of wild speculation amongst the hounds of fleet street in order to sell papers!"

Our sources inside the dressing room however suggest that "BIG JIM" has been seen with the 38 year old stunner whilst at official functions, and is quoted to say "I wouldn't put it past him".  This last comment may be in reference to his goalkeeping skills however.

From the drama of England's exit out of Euro 2004 the nation turns its attention to preparations for the Cavaliers forthcoming season in Norbury Powerleague division 6

After a night of pure drama in Portugal that saw England knocked out of Euro 2004 on penalties the nation once again turns its attention to the Cavaliers’ preparations for season 6 in the Norbury Powerleague.  The Cavaliers hope to go from strength to strength in this next season and make the return to division 5 at the second attempt!

The squad, now back in pre-season training after a short close season that involved the usual round of contract negotiations, transfer rumours and possible international call ups, seemed upbeat about prospects for the new season. The mood at a recent training event held at striker Rodney Dacombe's countryside residence was certainly very positive. The established players remarked that there were a lot of good points to take from season 5 and new signings Iyad Paloba and James Borth had both proved to be very useful additions to the squad. Andy Craddock still remains an injury concern but the C's hope to see the 60 goal striker back in action at Turl Street soon!

The Cavaliers are pleased to announce that they will be retaining the current squad for next season with the addition of fans favourite Justin Funnell (Big Fun) for two league games and an appearance at a charity match to help support and develop south coast minnows Common Ground FC (fixture to be held in early August at the Turl Street ground Norbury-home of Powerleage football and the Cavaliers FC).

Division 6 rivals Slick Beavers 2 are also busy preparing for next season and the C's would like to thank them in advance for the six points -cheers lads!

11th of June - An mostly drunk Mark Camilletti recieved the Player of the Season trophy from last seasons winner James Lambert tonight during a star studded ceremony.

New and supposedly improved!!! SB's return to Norbury

They said it couldn't happen!  They hoped the dark days could never return!  Yet against all adversity, Cavaliers bitter rivals return to Norbury Powerleague Division 6.  Slick Beavers were memorably banished from the league in September 03, after being constantly humiliated by our true boys in blue.  Their terrible form sucked the life out of their tired shell of a team, forcing a split that sent shockwaves through the Division.  But you never know how much you appreciate something until it's gone, and the C's can honestly say it's not been the same since they left.  For the first time on this site we would like to offer a warm welcome return to the Slick Beavers (now officially Slick Beavers 2, to try and shed some of their ill fate), before starting to destroy you both pysically and mentally on the pitch.

Three huzzah's for friendly rivalry!!

New Training Top Stuns Norbury

Following the official unveiling of the new training top last week on this website, the lads took to the field on Tuesday 4th May 2004 wearing the new garments.  The shrieks of delight from the amassed crowds proved this was a big hit.  The following shots depict the great moment.

Cavaliers considering court action

During a recent press release, Brighton team "CommonGround FC" went so far as calling Mighty C's "Dirty Cavalier Scum".  This adds fuel to recent rumours that CG have circulated, most revolving around accusations of cheating and being too physical.  This disgusting use of "freespeech" is completely without merit, and shall be dealt with by the authorities.  In court the C's will announce that the reason for the slander is the fact that CommonGround are a bunch of whining losers who couldn't punch their way out of a wet paper bag.

New kit deal

Cavaliers F.C. have just taken receipt of their new style kits.  An Excellent debut saw the Cavaliers battle back against Northcotes F.C. to win 5-4, so a good omen for next season!

A professional touch in incorporating our logo into the design.  We now have a kit which mirrors the dignity and style  shown on and off the pitch.

Out with the old...

It has been finally been confirmed.  Cavaliers are to revolutionise themselves Wimbledon style by going back on their heritage.  Against the Fans will, a new team badge will be ready for the new kit next season.  After deep consultation the image below was decided upon for the new kit.

Let's hope that the new design will last as long as the prestigeous old one.

Dogtanian dispute!!!

Cavaliers F.C. are in dispute over the use of the image of Dogtanian, the bravest of all Muskahounds, as their official emblem.  It is understood that, while Dogtanian himself is proud to be associated with the UK's premier invitation 5-a-side team, he does not own his image rights.  A sad indictment of today's money-obsessed society?  I say fight the power!  We shall not rest until the little fella is set free from his purgatory!

One for all and all for one!

Town refuse to deny Lambert interest!

The following is taken from an email by Edwina Sesto, of Ipswich Town F.C.:

Cavaliers F.C. "Are you able to confirm rumours of your interest in the Captain of Cavaliers FC, the defender James Lambert?"

Sesto "Thank you for your email, I will forward to Samantha Kirk, Press
Officer."

Doesn't sound like much of a denial to me...
