| 17/08/2006 | 16 - 23 | W | C's vs C's | Friendly | |
| i think everyone enjoyed it and everyone showed good football skills. If we can do some of the moves we did last night in competitive games then i'm looking forward to whipping some teams next season! Team Kev (in old kit) 16 Martyn 2, Chris, Mo 2, Kev 6 ( .... yes, that's right, 6!!!!!), Brad 4, Rod o.g. Team Vin (in new kit) , o.g. , Rod 3, Simon 5, Iyad 7, vin 7 | |||||

| Disapointment we could not play a team we know well and could have got a result against. | |||||
| 08/08/2006 | 5 - 9 | L | FC Arselona | The Cavalier's Improve | |
| Chris Barrett (1), Simon Brock (3), Lambert (0), Paloba (0), Chris Parham (1), Will Sutton - GK(0). Man of the match: Goal of the match: Chris Parham's speculative shot that hit the keeper as he dived the wrong way, looped over him, and somehow landed in the back of the net. Or, for the purists, Simon's half-volley from the side that rocketed past their keeper (some may say it was a five-a-side version of Van Basten's Euro-1988 goal). Although we lost, it was a close game. At half time we were down 6-1 but fought hard in the second half to bring it back to 9-5. Arselona are a strong team and we will be pleased to have physically matched them. Lambert - Saved his best performance of the season for this last game. Strong at the back, read the game well and, most importantly, got his foot on the ball time after time to break up a strong attacking team. We passed well and there was a lot of great movement, in defense and attack. Parham covered a lot of ground in defence and worked hard to create openings. Simon did well to find that space and deservedly scored his hat-trick. The real difference between the teams was their monster goalkeeper. Any chance we can sign him? | |||||
| 01/08/2006 | 6 - 8 | L | Waterscapes | Crapness | |
| Barrett (1), Brock (2), R.Dacombe (0), K.Dacombe (0), Lambert (0), Paloba (1), Sutton (2). Against the same team as last week we had a 'funny one'! We scored first and at half time lead 5-3 with a very good performance. There was no way they should have improved in the second half. However, whilst in complete control, we could not score and let in too many soft goals. It would be easy to blame it on Dacombe's hissy/girly-fit, but too many of the Cavaliers lacked winning spirit. Its not just about playing well. Its about playing well and winning! We had a great chance to move into midtable safety and failed. | |||||
| 25/07/2006 | 9 - 5 | W | Waterscapes | Hoorah at last | |
| Brock (4), Camilletti (0), Craddock (0), C.Parham (1), Paloba (1), C.Rodi (2), Sutton (1). How much difference can one week make. Waterscapes were destroyed. The scoreline is generous to them as the C's had control of the game from the very first minute to the last. 4-1 up at half time, we held it together and probably even improved in the second half. Everyone enjoyed the game to an extend we began to show off... very unlike us. Brock showed finishing class with 4 goals, Will was at his masterful best creating space, and Rodi would be a great addition to the team bringing with him fine movement and passing. The game marked the return of the Craddock, but alas, no goal to reward a good comeback. | |||||
| 18/07/2006 | 6 - 8 | L | Real Numptys | A missed opportunity | |
| Brock (3), Camilletti (0), Carter (0), K.Dacombe (0), R.Dacombe (0), Homes (2), Lambert (0), Oinn (1). Another week and another missed opportunity. Although the Numptys are top of the table, last night there was a real possibility of taking points as they only had 4 players. We had possession and, for a lot of the game, control of the ball. The usual weakness in finding the back of the net was our downfall. It looked like a good game to be a part of and enjoy. However, we need to find that missing element that takes us from always being nearly winners to actually winning, and winning in true cavalier spirit. | |||||
| 11/07/2006 | 8 - 9 | L | Leigham Army | A low for the cavaliers | |
| Brock (5), Buckley(0), K.Dacombe (0), R.Dacombe (1), Lambert (0), I. Paloba (1), M. Paloba (0), Sutton (0), o.g. (1). After storming into a 3-0 lead after only 5 minutes, the cavaliers ashamedly went on to show little fight and skill to hold onto a game. Although in control for all the first half, there was a lack of goalscoring finess to finish off a stubborn Leigham Army. At 7-6 up, when a clear penalty was not awarded by the ref, the oppo struck an equaliser whilst we argued. From then on we lost control. A low for the C's as games like this must be won. | |||||
| 04/07/2006 | 4 - 11 | L | Iron Mountain | Too Hot for the Cavaliers | |
| Buckley(0), R.Dacombe (1), Homes (0), Lambert (0), Oinn (2), Paloba (0), Sutton (1). Brave performance considereing it was a scorcher. The heat was our biggest enemy, tiring out our team and making it a difficult game against a fit young side. A usual story for the C's, we were 4-3 down at half time, but our lack of fitness showed and in the eagerness to score we unfortunately left ourselves very exposed at the back due to people wanting to die from exhaustion. High/Low-lights; Buckley poked a 14 year old kid in the eyes, deliberately. Rod scoring from kick-off, then missing a penalty and an open goal from 1 yard out! Lambert's heroics in goal making up for last's weeks faffs! Will's attempt to inject class into the game with Ronaldinho style touches. | |||||
| 27/06/2006 | 5 - 9 | L | Baboon Badminton | A much better display against the old enemy but still not good enough. | |
| Brock (3), Buckley(1), R.Dacombe (0), Lambert (0), Paloba (1), Sutton (0). Something about the Dirty Baboons brings out the fiery side of the C's. Hard fought game with tough tackles (as will's scars prove and Iyad thumping Collina with a full powered kick, just affer flatteing another baboon) and never-say-die attitude. The Cavaliers scored first and dominated the first 10 minutes. We were missing holding players but otherwise showed great defensive strength. Rod had a great half in goal and Lambert astonishes us all with brilliant double saves then lets in a comic own goal. Brock was the star player again with a great hat-trick, but that does not compare to Buckley's wonder goal. Like Beckenbauer, he collected the ball in own half, looked around for a pass, then decided to stroke (with Brad-like power) the ball into the bottom corner! | |||||

| 06/06/2006 | 5 - 8 | L | Goodfellaz | Highly Dissapointing | |
| Brock (0), Buckley(0), Cameletti (0), Carter (0), Cristiano (2), Paloba (3). James Buckley and James Carter did a half each in goal but they were both much more needed in defence. Iyad, Vin, Mark and Simon were too keen on attacking and we often left our unfortunate defender outnumbered WHEN Goodfellas got the ball. At times Goodfellas struggled to get near the ball, let alone touch it. There were spells of 10, 15 and 20 passes between us but we did not make the most of it. When they got the ball (usually after a rebounded save or block) they ran down the other end and scored!!! They probably had 10 shots and got 8. Our shot to goal ratio was not high either, we just passed the ball too much!!! When we opened them up we tried to be too clever. Vin got what surely has to be goal-of-the-season. The move was so slick and fast involving all four outfield players creating space with one-touch passing. If last week we felt unlucky at the number of times we hit the post/bar, this week we have to regret the number of one-on-ones we had that we failed to score from!! The ref didn't show up so powerleague had to find a replacement. To be fair he had a decent game and not his fault we had to play 35 mins. | |||||
| 30/05/2006 | 9 - 12 | L | Leigham Army | Not enough time….. | |
| Brock (2), Buckley(0), Cameletti (0), Cristiano (2), Homes (2), Paloba (2), Sutton (1). We were 6-1 down at half time, 8-2 down at start of second half, but fought back strong. When we wanted to, we were the better team, and to be fair the better team throughout the match. Just a shame it took us so long to wake up and play!! The ref was an ars* and finished the game early, just as we had the belief we could get a result. There were some beautiful goals and great possession football. Simon ran rings round some of their guys and Will showed brilliant passing vision. Even Cambo was getting in some tough tackles on their big guys. There was the usual thunderbolt goal from half way from Brad. Vinny held up the ball well and scored a couple of good goals. Buckley stepped up to the challenge in goal, but we did miss his defensive presence in the second half. And finally, Iyad got nutmegged 3 time in his first half goal duties, but got his own back with some shocking (and ashamed to say intentional) ankle damaging tackles on their biggest goal threat!!! As a team the performance is reminisant of the 1974 Dutch team that mesmerized the world with their total football, but forgot that they also need to score goals and lost to the Germans! | |||||
| 23/05/2006 | 7 - 7 | D | Baboon Badminton | Never say die | |
| Brock (2), Buckley(0), K.Dacombe (0), R.Dacombe (0), Homes (2), Paloba (2), Sutton (1). 7-5 down with a 2 minutes to go, the C's magnificently fight back for a well deserved draw. This definitely payback for some previous bad results against the Baboons. At times a tempered and bad refereed game had many highlights. Rod's man-of-the-match performance in goal, Simon's quality goals, Kev's (the "little tart") theatrics, iyad's pathetic cramp, Will's curler. | |||||
| 16/05/2006 | 7 - 10 | L | The Camels | Friendly vs div 3 team | |
| Brock (3), Buckley(0), Cristiano (0), K.Dacombe (0), Homes (2), Lambert (0), Paloba (1), Sutton (1). Great display. Played as friendly but competed for a win. Good performances all round. 7 good goals by the C's. Highlights, Brad's thunderbolt from own half, Simon's 3 classy goals, Lambert's shiny new boots, Vin's simultaneous takeout of 2 of their biggest guys. | |||||
| 16/05/2006 | 10 - 0 | W | Pages Walk | Bye | |
| [changed to new team, 'Iron Mountain FC'] | The C's were looking forward to playing a team we beat twice last season, but they obviously too scared and didn't show up. | ||||

| 02/05/2006 | 3 - 8 | L | Amateurs | Heartbreaking | |
| Paloba(1), Cristiano(0), K Dacombe(0), Buckley(1), Simon(1), Lambert(0), Homes(1). We dominated the game, created chance after chance. Their keeper played possible his best ever game and saved numerous shots. Poor finishing didn’t help though and we should have scored at least 10. We played brilliantly and some great goals were scored by Brad, Simon, a goal from center spot for iyad and an amazing strike from Big Jim Buckley running on to a pass from a well taken set piece. The defining moment of the match came in the closing seconds. They somehow equalised and seemed to be celebrating already that they were going to hold on for a draw when Iyad suddenly finds himself though on goal, shoots and the keeper saves yet again! The ball was chased down into the corner and it seemed the ball was going to get to JL, who was magnificent in goal, but the pass back was fluffed and they scored with the last kick of the game leaving Cavaliers on the floor wondering how they lost. All in all a great performance, maybe the best of the season, leaving the fans hopeful for next season that the C’s can have a realistic push for promotion, especially after seeing us score 100 goals in a season! | |||||
| 02/05/2006 | 2 - 13 | L | Lusitanos | Cup game vs Div 1 leaders | |
| Paloba(1), Cristiano(0), K Dacombe(0), Buckley(0), Simon(1), Lambert(0), Homes(0). Without over-extendeding ourselves, the C's showed they are no roll-overs. A composed and stylish performance that only lacked the final skills and goal-scoring ability of our Div 1 counterparts. | |||||

| 18/04/2006 | 4 - 8 | L | Bend One In | Proud to be a C | |
| Paloba (2), Mo(0), Cristiano (0), K Dacombe (0), Buckley (0), Simon (2). Against the same oppo as last week the C's performed brilliantly against a clearly better team. However, the scoreline was still a compliment to the oppo. The C's went in hard from the start and did not allow them to play. A great debut from simon with two goals and never-ending running from Kevin probably the difference. | |||||

| Lambert (0), Paloba (0), Sutton (0), Holmes (2), Barrett (0), Mo(0), Buckley (0), Cristiano (1). The C's could not cope with this physiclly strong team. | |||||

| 28/03/2006 | 9 - 9 | D | Goodfellaz | Stalemate. | |
| Lambert (0), Paloba (2), Sutton (fantastic 4), Holmes (2), Barrett (1), Mo(0). Goals from the start and an exciting game that was drawn with the very last kick of the game. The c's arch rivals were boosted with a 2nd division loan played that probably made the difference. Fun game that was only missing a good final result. Sutton showed off some of his maradona skills and brad fired in a couple of rockets. | |||||
| 21/03/2006 | 10 - 16 | L | Don't Panic | Cheated by the ref. | |
| Lambert (0), Paloba (1), Sutton (1), Camilletti (0), Jarv (2), Mike (3), Homes (2), Barrett (1). Hard fought game. C's played well going forward but were up against the ref as well as the oppo. Baffling ref decisions cost us unfair goals and destroyed c's style! | |||||
| 14/03/2006 | 3 - 18 | L | Amateurs | C's humiliated. | |
| Lambert (0), Paloba (0), Sutton (0), Camilletti (0), Jarv (0), Mike (2), Kev (0), Barrett (0), Rod (0), OG(1). The large squad depleted with injuries and tiredness from the first game. Barrett was a big loss with an early toe injury, Jarv never performed after damage to his crown jewels, Paloba had to play in goal after cramp and Vin was out with ankle trouble. Peg-leg Rod even risked his own health to help out. The C's held on early in the game but the oppo soon found their touch and superior pace and movement cost us too many goals. | |||||
| 14/03/2006 | 5 - 7 | L | Baboon Badmington | So close! | |
| Lambert (0), Paloba (0), Cristiano (1), Camilletti (0), Jarv (0), Mike (3), Kev (0), Barrett (1). A strong looking C's side was in force with the return of Barrett from injury, along with appearances from Mike and Jarv. For three quarters of the game the C's controlled the game, taking a 5-2 lead with 15 mins to go. Mike scored 4 sensational goals and Jarv was an ever-present danger. However, an amazing goalkeeping performance from the oppo, tiredness, costly errors and theatrical italian gesturing cost us late goals. This should have been a vaulable win, but ended up a dissapointing loss. | |||||

| Paloba (3), Cristiano (3), Sutton (1), Mo (1), Homes (3), R Dacombe (1), Lambert (0). A significant win which takes the C's top of division 6. Slack play at times gave the oppo more goals than they deserved, but the team played slick passing and attacked well. All outfield players scored, even peg-leg with a cheeky penalty! | |||||
| 28/02/2006 | 6 - 9 | L | Don't Panic | Cheated! | |
| Paloba (0), Cristiano (magic 4), Rodi (2), Camilletti (0), Sutton (0), Mo (0). Cavaliers physically outfought but in no way outclassed. Great first half performance, Vin's quality goals and an impressive display from Rodi the highlights. A crazy 5 minute second half spell and bizarre refereeing decisions cost us the game. | |||||
| 21/02/2006 | 20 - 7 | W | Goodfellas | Record Cavaliers win. | |
| Lambert (1 in the top corner), Camilletti (1 in a million!!!), Homes (5 power drives), Paloba (hit a 6), K Dacombe (3), Sutton (3), Cristiano (0), o.g.(1), R Dacombe (2 for the opposition). Weak opponents allowed the C's to play stylish football the like of which not seen in many months. Great passing, wonder goals (i.e. IP's Cryuff turn past the last man and a dink over the keeper!) and contributions from everyone, even with Cambo blocking our own efforts!! | |||||
| 14/02/2006 | 10 - 4 | W | Pages Walk | Valentine's Day Massacre! | |

| 07/02/2006 | 2 - 10 | L | Baboon Badmington | Oh dear! | |
