I used two strands of 5 ply yarn for the vest and 12 ply yarn for the blue trimming.
Amount of yarn, main color, two 25 gm balls. Small amount of contrast color.
Size 5.00mm hook for the vest and size 4.00mm for the trim.
Very quick and easy to make up. Size new born to 3 months.
Starting at the bottom of the vest.
DC= yo hook, insert hook into loop, draw through yarn, yo hook, draw through 2 loops, yo hook, draw through 2 loops again. (Australian/English term for dc is trbl)
Ch 3 is beginning dc of every row.
Ch 63, work 1 dc in 3rd chain from hook and in each ch across, ch 3 turn (61 dc)
1 dc in 2nd dc from hook and in each dc across, ch 3 turn.
Work 9 more rows as above.
Divide for right side:
Working in blo, dc across to 11th dc, ch 3 turn (12 dc)
DEC: 1 dc in next 10 dc, ch 3 turn (11 dc)
Working Across the back:
Attach yarn to the 7th dc from right, side edge
ch 3 in same st, working in blo, dc across next 24 dc, ch 3 turn
Work 4 more rows of dc, then fasten off.
Working the Left Side.

With the remaining yarn, I made a hat using bev's easy round baby hat pattern, with a few alterations.
I also used the fake mary jane's pattern, for the shoes.
