A cat/kitten adoption application must be filled out. Adoptions are approved based on the application, an interview, and possibly a home visit.
The $100 adoption fee includes a recent vet exam, current rabies and distemper combo vaccines, FIV/Feline Leukemia testing, and a spay/neuter. We will also provide you with a pair of nail clippers and a scratching box for your new friend!
We do offer special adoption rates for bringing more than one cat/kitten into your loving home, please ask us for more details on this. We want what is best for the cats, so many times we will require that siblings stay together because they interact so well together and they can keep each other company while you are away. We will often send two siblings to a new home together for one adoption fee! We often find people looking for a 'playmate' for their single cat, because they are lonely; provide the best for your new friend and get a playmate right away!
Why is there an adoption fee?
Most of the cats and kittens that come to us have health problems or injuries. Our veterinary care is donated, but medicine and testing are not free. Vaccines, anesthesia, suture material, etc., must be purchased as well. Foster families donate their homes, but adoption fees can help cover these other expenses in addition to food and litter.
