All my females(does) are kept in a large walk in enclosure, below you can see them enjoying grazing on a apple tree branch. This is the old enclosure and has been replaced in 2009 with a new enclosure which can be seen below.
By placing a number of ramps, platforms stones at varying heieghts helps to
exercise my rabbits and helps to keep them fit. They enjoy stretching and searcing for food looking for the tender new shoots. It gives jaws excercise helps to keep teeth in good trim and relieves boredom. The spend hours stripping the bark and finding different ways to get at the bits they are after!
The new enclosure below has ramps and cages at varying heights, who said rabbits dont like to climb they love it!!!
Ignore all the junk in the background the bunnies don't have access to it and when its all cleared away it will be a star exhibit of an enclosure! the pens under construction in the background will form part of the cattery.

Plenty of space to hop around means the bunnies all have their own space and can get out of one anothers way if they desire.

Having kept rabbits this way for a number of years i would never go back to individual cages. They give me hours of pleasure just watching them hop around going about their daily business.

Rose is a LIonhead and is a loner, always found in the pen located on the shelving in her own little "space". he interacts only with the other rabbits on an evening when most of them huddle together in one of the cages. She is very quiet and friendly but prefers her own company. She comes to the floor only for feeding and prefers to be perched p high over looking her domain. Maybe she thinks shes a bird or possibly a lion!!! She was born in 2006 and was bred by me. She has not had a litter yet, but she helps out as auntie to all the young ones. She is more caramel coloued than Fudge but still has grey undertones. She at different times of the year could also like Fudge pass as a different rabbit completley!
Twitch was born in June 2009, she is a georgeous fluffy Light grey doe with a whit nose. She is very placid, but cheeky. She prefers her own company and dosent interact much with the other females during the day . However come dusk she can be found in the centre of the pile as they all snuggle up together for a good nights sleep! She has a very fluffy coat and loves her daily brush. I will breed from her in 2010 with Pan who throws lovely babies!!!!
Fudge was born in JUly 2006, she is a Light caramel coloured Lionhead with alot of grey undertones in her coat. Some days she looks grey others beige! She considers herself to be the head of the group! and is first in to everything. She mothers everything an every one including the guinea pig babies much to the anoyance of thier mothers!
Sky was born in January 2009, She came here in September 2009 having already produced a litter for her previous owner!! She was originally bred in Scotland so am told and will not be leaving here, shes here for life!!! I will breed from her next year and see what she produces. She is a BEW (blue eyed white) carrier and has the most amasing eyes. Not to everyones taste but we love her.
Summer a REW Lionhead and her twin Cloud were born and bred here (mother Tiger Lilly) in June 2009. She is cheeky and loves human attention. Every morning she arrives on the top of the cage for her head tickling and her carrot, veg or hay treat. She is very placid and easy going, full of character just like her mum!......i know you shouldnt have favourates but.......
Cloud a REW Lionhead is never far from her sister Summer. The two are inseparable and almost indistinguishable from one another. She is quieter than her sisiter but no less cheeky!!
My "Boys" all share a large enclosure, and very rarely fight or fall out. They are all very placid by nature and are a hansome bunch of chaps.
Bugs 2 was bred by me.He is a mid grey agouti Lionhead, but never kept his mane. It is more visible in the winter when he has his winter coat but for most of the time he wouldnt pass for a Lionhead!. He was born in 2006, and is very placid he often sits grooming his son Pan for hours and dose not know the meaning of the word trouble!
Pan like his father is a Lionhead lacking his mane for most of the year!. As a baby he had a wonderful mane. His babies however are the fluffiest gremlins ever to be seen!!! Pan is a dark grey Agouti and spends most of his time within feet of his dad! He is very affectionate and is the first to "ask" to be stroked and petted.
