My Background
I studied psychology at University, initially working with those with mental health and learning difficulties. Later obtaining professional qualifications in several areas of counselling, psychotherapy, management, staff training, working with challenging behaviours, team work, supervision, support networks, care in the community and related areas. I moved towards management and staff support and then into staff training in all these areas.
The way the mind works has interested me all my life, and eventually feeling I was unable to achieve all I knew was possible I began to search for a way to take what I had already learned onto a new level. I came across hypnotherapy quite by chance, and the man who trained me to carry it out.
Finally it seemed I had discovered a method, that aligned with psychotherapy, could actually bring about real and lasting changes in peoples lives.
I was trained in both group and individual work, going through the process myself (an important and relevant aspect in my opinion, it is unwise and unrealistic to ask someone to go through something you would not). Much of the training was experiential, and thus possible to learn and put into practice at the same time.
The unconscious is a doorway to the being, and to many areas of discovery and exploration. Whether your wish it to discover and liberate yourself from that which holds you back, to explore any numbers of areas of being, to take a journey into yourself, the unknown, to be free to become all that you can be is up to you. Being a practitioner who likes to practice what they preach I have explored all these avenues within myself and over the years helped thousands of others to do so.
I began to practice hypnotherapy full time 12 years ago (part time for considerably longer), and have been doing so ever since. Developing my practice, refining my skills, researching and evolving what was then a relatively unknown area.
I am a member of two professional organisations, where I have over the years been able to support other members, had articles published in professional journals, been a pioneer in smoking cessation and inner child work.
I have now trained and supported, and continue to support several other hypnotherapists.
I have a good reputation in the area, am known by many doctore, consultants and psychiatrists, as well as receiving many self referrals and referrals through word of mouth and satisfied clients.
