I want off the rollercoaster!
I was born in the Northeast and I moved to California when I was 17. I live with my husband and his grandson whom we are raising. I have struggled with weight since I was 7 years old. I think I weighed 250 by the time I was in junior high school. I would lose weight and then when I reached a certain point I would start overeating again and balloon back up with even more. I did OA, Optifast (twice), Atkins and so many other's I can't even remember. More recently I got over being ill in 2000-01 and I put on even more weight topping the scales at 385lbs. It is scary to think I might be unable to stop. I started seeing so many stories about people getting gastric bypass and I started to think it was my only option. But then I thought - Wait, I am going to have my stomach surgically altered to keep myself from eating, risking death - I should just once and for all limit my portions and realize that no one ever said I should be able to eat as much as my mind thinks I should be able to and still be thin. So I joined Weight Watchers and so far it is wonderful. I am losing weight and I am eating healthy and the things I want but the points system guides me to keep the portions in proportion! I plan to share my progress with pictures and to post pictures of my family too. Thanks for visiting my site! All the Best, Catherine
