you are more likely to claim on pet insurance than
your car or home insurance.
Here at Castle View Vets we believe that pet
insurance is vital to your pet’s healthcare. Also we
recommend that you treat pet insurance like you
would with your own health care plan rather than car
insurance, as the cheapest is not always best. We as
a vets promote Petplan® insurance not because it is
the cheapest but it is the best cover you can get
for your pet. Petplan® are a specialist pet insurer
and have more clients than any other insurer out
there. With a range of policies to suit all pockets
insurance is something you cannot do without.
There are 3 types of policy available:
• Lifetime/Covered for life policies – cover is
provided up to a set amount (dependant on which
policy you take out) and as long as you renew your
policy every year with no breaks in-between then
there is no upper age limit or time limit on how
long you can claim for. i.e. Each condition can be
claimed for whole of the animal’s life.
• Time-limited policies – cover is again provided up
to a set amount but with this type of policy each
condition can only be claimed for 12-months then
that condition will be excluded from the policy.
• Maximum Benefit – cover is provided up to a set
amount for each condition but once that set amount
has been used the condition will be excluded from
the policy.
