Cassia County Sheriff's Office

The Cassia County Sheriff's Department curently consists of 45 employees, not including the jail staff.  This includes Sheriff Jim Higens and Captain Cary Bristol, 20 Patrol Deputies, 5 Detectives, 1 School Resource Officer, 1 Dare Officer, 7 Dispatchers, 2 Civil Process Officers, 3 Personnel in Records/Public Service Coord., 2 Secretaries, and 2 Drivers License Personnel. 

At 2,577 square miles Cassia County is larger in size than the state of Rhode Island and the state of Delaware.  Cassia County Deputies patrol an area that is about 66 miles wide from east to west and 49 miles long from north to south. It is the 8th largest (land mass) county in the state. According to the U.S. Census in 2004 Cassia County had a population of approximately 21,393 people.
