Black Friday Vendor Fair

History of Black Friday: Black Friday, by definition, is the busiest shopping day after Thanksgiving. Many serious shoppers wake up in the wee hours to get those early morning bargains. According to investopedia: Black Friday was A day of stock market catastrophe. Originally, September 24, 1869, was deemed Black Friday. The crash was sparked by gold speculators, including Jay Gould and James Fist, who attempted to corner the gold market. The attempt failed and the gold market collapsed, causing the stock market to plummet.

It was in 1975 that crowds began racing into the stores the day after Thanksgiving to get the bargains in the retail stores. Despite the economy of the 1970's, because of the amount of traffic in the stores, newspapers dubbed the day after Thanksgiving, Black Friday.
