Tucker is a sweet three year old Clydy x gelding, and what a HANDSOME boy his going to be when he is well again  He is incredibly quiet and friendly. Tucker came from a trail riding/horse hire business, as has Faith. We are told that he has done a lot of work already, and was one of their most reliable and quiet horses. I can believe it, he is so calm, gentle, and easy to do anything with. He actually nearly walked over the top of me to load into the float for the trip home  Tucker has a lovely soft, kind and curious eye. He has his whole life ahead of him now, and I'm very excited to see just how his future unfolds for him.

Darryn was out today to see to the feet of our two newbies. They were both beautifully behaved for him. Tucker is such a 'grown up' for a three year old. He has very good feet, and not a lot needed doing to them.

Well Tucker got the 'Jaimee Special' today...a good bathing from head to tail  He was an absolute angel, and stood with the lead rope draped over the rail while Jaimee did her stuff. He seemed to quite enjoy it, as it was very hot here today. His tail is absolutely amazing, I've never seen a thicker tail. I think Jaimee used half of the container of shampoo on that alone

Tucker needs serious help re his mouth/teeth. His breath is absolutely toxic, it's enough to make your stomach turn, in fact, mine's starting to turn again just typing about it  He is constantly drooling big thick strings of gunky saliva from his mouth, and trying to spit it out. I have left a message with the Dentist again, describing the state he's in, and hopefully he will be here in the not too distant future..poor boy. Amazing how sweet natured he still is with a seriously uncomfortable, and probably painful issue. I hope he hasn't been living like this for too long

Here are Tucker & Faith...post bath.

Our boy finally had his date with our Dentist today. Russell was rather *impressed* by the wicked stench coming from Tuckers mouth  I thought Jaimee needed the experience of holding a horse for the Dentist, so I let her man the mouth end  Thanks Jaimee, you did a great job  Tucker was very well behaved for Russell, somewhat unsure naturally, but took it very well for his first time.

Russell found extensive ulceration under Tuckers tongue, cause by a huge amount of massive grass seeds, which had been in there for quite some time. This explains the drooling and the rotten smell. Russell did a thorough job in Tuckers mouth, and made sure that his mouth was left clean and free of any impacted seeds. Tucker will be as good as gold now, and it is unlikely that the problem will present again, as I will be sure that he is not fed hay which contains an excessive amount of grass seeds. I'm sure he's feeling much happier in himself tonight, and we can stop ensuring that we're up wind of him all the time

Russell confirmed that Tucker is rising four.

Well Tucker is doing extremely well. He is now very noticably gaining condition, and his issue with his mouth is nearly resolved. He has been wormed a second time, and all he has left to do now is to relax, do some growing, and have some fun for a change! Next week we are taking him to our sister property, and he will be moving in with Sammy and Finny in the 25 acre paddock. There is great feed in there, as a lot of water has gone over the paddock while the irrigating has been going on around the farm. Sammy is proof of just how well they do in there. You couldn't call him fat yet, but it won't be long

Tucker is going to stay out at the farm for a matter of months. He has been deprived of his youth, in being worked into the ground as a 'hire horse' since a young age. In the case of this particular boy, I believe that this is the best thing that we can do for him. I'd like him to have the opportunity to clear his head. He is stunted in his development, and I seriously doubt that he knows what it is to be a young horse, run, be silly, and play. He is only 3 years old, so has time on his side. I think 6 mths or so off, in a large paddock with good feed, will really do him a lot of good. I also think he bloody well deserves it

I will be visiting him very regularly, as I now have Finny there also, doing exactly the same thing. They will be a happy trio of three young boys, living as horses should, for a while anyhow. I will take regular pictures of him for his page, so that I can share with the many 'Tucker fans' his progress, and also share the joy of seeing him happily growing.

Tucker will return to Carinya Park when he is fat, healthy, strong, and happy. We will start him from scratch then, and at his own pace.  He's just a premium horse, and I just cannot wait to see him shine in prime condition. He has been nothing but a sensible, quiet gentleman while he's been here, and deserves the absolute best of homes when the time comes. he is a true pleasure of a horse. I cannot fault him.

Tucker's still here
Somehow I keep 'not finding' the time to take him to the property to turn him out

I also gave him a VERY rough measure today, and I'd say that he's around the 15.2h mark.
