Q: How do I arrange face to face counselling?

A: Please use the email contact provided or phone the number on the contacts page to arrange an appointment. My Thames office is in Kerepehi which is north of Paeroa and south of Ngatea. I can also be seen in Greerton, Tauranga.

Q: Why get counselling online?

A: There are several advantages in receiving online counselling. 

•  Anonimity: Some people are embarrassed about having counselling or find some things difficult to share face to face. With the online  method total anonimity is assured! 
• Convenience: Clients who are disabled, ill or without transport can receive counselling in the comfort of their own home.  Anyone with a computer and an internet connection can receive counselling online no matter how rural  or remote their home.
• Value: Online counselling is less expensive than regular counselling because the counsellor has fewer overheads and can pass this saving on to the client. The client can spend more time considering the counsellor's advice or questions without building up extra charges.
• Efficiency: The client can maximise the productiveness of their interaction with the counsellor by carefully constructing their emails for greatest effectiveness. The client and counsellor are able to reflect carefully on their conversation and thus express their thoughts clearly and succinctly. Online counselling allows the client to save their conversations for later review if they so desire. This can be very helpful in the therapeutic process. The client also has more time to think about and formulate questions, comments and answers for the counsellor without having to pay for it.

Q: How do we chat together privately on line?

A: This website has a private counselling chat room. An appointment time may be made for a private chat in this room. (Click here to Make an appointment.)

Q: When must I pay for an online session?

A:  I request payment immediately prior to each counselling session/s.

Q: What do you charge?

A: I charge $30 NZD per hour long "face to face" counselling session. This may be negotiated sometimes. Communication via email is at the rate of $ 13-00 AUD per half hour or $22-00 AUD per hour of regular and continuous email exchanges. Alternately we can communicate via my counselling chat room at the rate of $22-00 AUD for an hour session.  It is also possible to communicate via email over a period of days. Four email exchanges of up to 500 words per email whereby I respond within twenty four hours to each email will cost $20-00 AUD in total.

Q: Why do I pay for online counselling in Australian dollars?

A: Because Paypal does not have a facility for paying in New Zealand dollars as yet. This also makes it easier for overseas clients to pay. I have adjusted my rates to be reasonable for New Zealand clients.

Q: How do I pay?

A: Please pay cash at the end of each "face to face" session or use Paypal for your online payment transactions.

Q: How do I get a paypal account?

A: A paypal account is free. Click on the paypal link on the  links page. The Paypal site has the answers to most queries in the F.A.Q. section. They are also available by email and respond promptly to answer any questions not included in the F.A.Q. list. If you still have problems please email me.
