- Congratulations to Great Britain for qualifying for the paralympics in 2006. Their were 3 Huskies in the squad, Nathan Stevens, Steven Thomas and Russell Willey. Along with Helen Stevens team manager, and Barry Stevens kit manager, who are also part of the Huskies team. Nathan was one of the scorers in the team, not sure yet how many, but i heard he was a scorer. More news on this soon, as ive only just heard it through the grape vine.
- On the 30th July their was a game held in Cardiff National Ice Rink. It was Wales Vs England the final result was 10-12, yet Wales held a tight match and held the game very close. Nathan was on top form and scored all 10 of our goals and there was a range of assists. Even though Nathan was on form, a lot of new guys coming through the ranks held their own, and played very well. Considering this was their first ever match in sledge hockey. A new Cardiff rookie, Stuart, was temporarily in goal for England. This was because they travelled to Cardiff with no net minder. Stuart was playing outstanding between the pipes for England, and it was a shame he was not skating away with man of the match. The outcome of the event for Cardiff was nothing but positive, as our new guys got game experience, also we all had a run out on the ice. The match was close all the way through and the game could have gone either way. This was healthy for the teams and the sport in general.
A return leg will be around August time so we will all be looking foward to it!!!.
Pictures of the event can be found in the Pictures gallery.
