Hello my friends! Greetings! Thanks for dropping by to my card magic portal. My name is Andrew Loh Shang Hai and I am a Chinese from Malaysia. I am 28 years old and I have been in the art of magic for the past 20 years. David Copperfield inspired me to fall in love of magic. My forte is in the art of card magic. When I was 6 years old, I used to purchase packet tricks which available at shopping complexes and at that time, it was so difficult to find an excellent card trick.
4 IN THE BEGINNING
The first card trick I learned was using lots of special cards and due to inflexibility of the nature of the trick, I preferred to perform impromptu card magic. During that time, I learned to do some simple non-card items sleight of hand magic such as cigarette manipulation, rope magic, coin magic, torn & restored newspapers and etc.
I remember the first gimmicked card trick I did was the simple version of Three Card Monte. I have deep interest in card magic simply because there are many, unique and numerous card magic effects to explore and the possibility are endless. Card magic is very flexible in the hands of any performer. I love colour changes, transposition, card magic that involved mathematical principles, torn & restored, spelling card tricks, card vanishes plots and many more.
4 FIRST CARD MAGIC BOOK
The first magic book I read was Mark Wilson's Greatest Magic Tricks. This is my first birthday gift from my father. I was so excited and I thought that was my special gift I ever received. But since then, those books I read would only available at bookstore. Unfortunately, there was an "inactive period" where I stopped magic for about a few years due to my academic studies. After that, I pursued my business diploma course and that was the time I began to start my craft again. I think magic has helped me a lot especially in terms of building my confidence.
4 FIRST SERIOUS ENCOUNTER
Then in the year of 2001, I came across Peter Duffie's video clip; he performed some of the nicest card magic and I was thrilled. Since then, I started to purchase and read all his materials. The first card magic books I read was "Duffie/Robertson's Card Conspiracy Vol 1-2". These books expand my horizons in the wonderful art of card magic. I believe these books will serve very well to other card enthusiasts too.
When I was a child, it was not easy to find magic books that circulated in the bookshops and I can hardly find any magic shop in my hometown here. Simply because there are not many magicians in my hometown. As now technology has emerged and changed all that, and now it is easier to purchase anything virtually online. And we can witness many wonderful masters perform magic in television, DVDs, etc.

My favourite magicians are Roy Walton, Peter Duffie, Alex Elmsley, Steve Beam, Guy Hollingworth, Larry Jennings, John Bannon, Dai Vernon, Daryl Martinez, Michael Ammar, Jean Pierre Vallarino, and David Stone.

4 WHY BECOME AN AUTHOR?
Seriously, being as an author and performer for many years, I realised that not all styles of magic suit my preference. This is why I like to create or come up my own card magic routine that suits my style of performing. In addition, authoring card magic book is my labour of love.
4 MY AIMS & OBJECTIVES
My principle in magic is to create magic effects that are impromptu, doable, simple, direct and great impact to laymen. The reason is simple because I would like them to enjoy my magic and to make my magic memorable to them. In addition, there is no need to pre-setup the deck in order to perform a card magic. However, over the years of performing card magic, I do have a few routines that require some set-up.
If you have purchased my materials all this while, you will realise that most of my materials are impromptu card magic. Of course, you will find some of my other e-Books that involve gimmick cards. The reason is because I would like to add some variety in my creations. Impromptu card magic really fascinates me because you can perform card magic at anytime and any place. Most of the time, you will find a number of impromptu card magic at my online shop.
4 MY OTHER HOBBIES
