Mention this blog post to me and get $10 off!  :D

Wild Rose Cottage Closes

It is with sadness that I had to pick up my art from Rose of Wild Rose Cottage.  After many years in Penticton, the economy has affected tourism and low sales have forced her to close shop.  Stay tuned for new shops to purchase my art & photography.  Best wishes to Rose and many thanks for her enthusiasm and willingness to support local artists.

Treasure at Treasure's Fine Furnishings in Summerland gave me my start in selling my photography and artwork.  We wish them well as they move on from Summerland and open their new store in Westbank.

Fun at the Post Office

Can I say that in a million years, I would not have thought my photography and artwork would be in a Post Office.  Here in Summerland, the Post Office is grand central station with many folks having to pick up their mail here as many homes don't have door to door mail service anymore.  So they have 12 permanent spots for artwork and as of yesterday, my artwork is being featured.  I had a lot of fun listening to people as I hung it up - most people thought I worked for the post office - so I had a real chuckle listening to their comments.  This is a fun little exhibition and I am very grateful for the invitation! :)

Heart Breaks for Haiti

I would like to encourage everyone to please open up their hearts and their pocketbooks for Haiti.  There are some fantastic organizations that give their all.  Here are some I personally recommend.

Christmas Dream Home Tour

Posted by capturinggodsart on December 5, 2009 at 1:51 AM Comments comments (0)

Well it was a very exciting weekend being the "artist in residence" at Penticton's Christmas Dream Home Tour.  It was a great place to meet people and thank you to the 75 people who took a brochure and spoke with me.  It was especially nice to meet the home owner for whom I was commissioned to do portraits of her granddaughters.  Her tears were a wonderful thank you!

I also met a lovely Dutch couple from Leir House who invited me to have an exhibition there.  I'm not sure I'm ready for that - but a very nice compliment indeed.

Art with Heart also went very well this year.  Sales were up $2000 and our charities all were able to benefit from all the artist's generosity.  I wish I could upload some photos, but this website is acting up.  I'll work on that.
