The Giant Killers

Every F A cup giant killing since 1888

          COLCHESTER UNITED

Magic moments

Colchester were barely a decade old as a team when they burst onto the Football map in 1948 when, as a Southern League club, they defeated First Division Huddersfield. That cup run arguably earned them their place in the Football League but when Colchester and the cup are mentioned in the same breath it is the crushing of the then mighty Leeds in 1971 that most easily comes to mind.
