Canterbury Council contracts Fairford Road Animal Hospital to board stray animals from the Canterbury Municipality.

The address is 2 Short Street Bankstown. Phone 9709 6003.
Directions: drive along Canterbury Road, turn into Gow Street, first on your right is Short Street, drive to the end and you are in the parking lot.

Council holds animals with no identification for 7 days and animals with microchips for 14 days unless they are collected by their owner.

There are council fees for collection, boarding and microchip and registration if necessary. Please enquire as to cost, as these fees must be paid at the time of collection.

Animals that are not claimed may be available for adoption after their holding period.

Adoption costs: cats $105

                            dogs $230

Adoption costs include first vaccination, worming, desexing and microchipping.
If the animal is over 6 months council registration is $40 additional.
