Presented and Hosted the 1st Macmillam Cancer Support Chess Rapidplay Congress.
On Sunday 23rd August 2009. Oganised by Local chess celebrity Ray Dolan.( Walsall Sports Personality of the Year Award 1998).
We Raised £ 802.00 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Via entries, donations and a Raffle. 92 players took part. 3 sections . Open, Major 140 grade and Minor under 100 grade. 5 rounds.
Chess Players entred fronm all over the UK. Including 1 player from BUDAPEST.
The Open attracted the best Around, Like England International Master Lawrence Cooper from Stafford. - Russell James From Birmingham, Richard Westwood From St Mary's Cannock, Andrew McCumiskley from Solihiull, plus Tristan Cox from Budapest.
