The Staff of Camp with a Cop hopes to impress upon the campers the importance of our great country's flag. At the beginning and ending of each camp day, the campers take part in a flag raising and lowering. Officer Varner, above helps Jackson Ashby prepare the flag for flag raising on day one. Officer Varner, a military veteran, explains to the campers what the colors, the stripes and stars stand for during a motivational speech he gives every year.
NEW THIS YEAR!!! Campers were given the opportunity to experience scuba diving first hand. Thanks to David Faulkenburg and his associates our campers were treated to an AWESOME time at the Tell City High School pool. We appreciate David and his friends and hope to make this event an annual opportunity.
Coty having a good time during field day activities. Activities included fishing, volleyball, and a dunk tank with local (celebrities) police officers inside! Pizza was also donated by PAPA JOHNS, CHICAGO'S AND DOMINO'S for the evening meal. Much thanks goes out to those businesses for supporting our camp!
Lt. Malone demostrated the "PepperBall" gun to campers and then gave them the opportunity to go hands on with this tool. Malone instructed the campers on its uses and advantages when investigating dangerous criminals.

Campers got a first hand view of what the Perry County Rescue Squad does best. This car, donated from Shur-Way Pro Towing, was used to demonstrate how the "Jaws of Life" are used. Steve Hauser, pictured in the red suit was on hand to give a quick briefing on how the tools work. A BIG thank you goes to Steve and his staff for taking the time to show their talents to our campers!
Trooper Johnson, a Drill Instructor does a few push-ups with one of his campers. Structure and discipline are encouraged to build high self-esteem in the campers. "Children at this age enjoy structure", said Johnson. It was no secret that Trooper Johnson was well liked by the campers.
