There Are Secrets at My House

Ssh! Must be quiet as a mouse
cause there are secrets at my house.
laughing faces, the smiles you see
are really only masks to me.

My mommy cries late at night
her and Daddy had an awful fight
But I'm as quiet as a mouse.
Cause there are secrets at my house.

Sissy's face is black and blue
Bobby's arm is broke in two
But ssh! be quiet as a mouse.
Cause there are secrets at my house.

I try to keep the secrets straight
like Bobby fell off his bike by the gate
Oh, and Sissy walked into a door
and there are many, many more.

So all the secrets I can't tell
make my life a living hell
But ssh! be quiet as a mouse.
Cause there are secrets at my house.

"Inside These Walls"

inside these walls,
there's many secrets.
inside these walls,
is a world of pain.

inside these walls,
a little girl is hiding.
trying to get away,
from the guilt and shame.

Jessica is just 5 years old and her daddy beats her almost everyday
Her mother stands back in the shadows praying it will all go away
the beatings are really bad and Jessica can't fight back
it is the courage of this little girl, that her mother seems to lack

Noone knows the pain this little girl goes through each day
for it is all done inside these walls, while others go out to play
she crouches in a corner, trying to figure out what she's done wrong
singing Jesus loves me, because this is her favorite song

Why does her daddy hate her so, it must be something she's done
he beats her constantly, but never lays a hand on his son
she wonders why he calls her names and always puts her down
this tiny little girl of only 5 years old, lives right outside of town

noone ever hears her cries, inside these walls of doom
and if someone doesn't help her, she may be dead real soon
Jessica is just 5 years old and she is battered and bruised
her mother stands back and watches, afraid he'll hit her too

"Hush Little Girl"

                                                                                          Missing image

Hush little Girl,
don't say a word.
Of all this abuse,
it can never be heard.

The beatings were bad,
the words hurt even more.
All of this happening,
behind our closed doors.

Hush little girl,
don't say a word.
Of all this abuse,
it can never be heard.

Date raped at age 15,
kept to yourself.
For this act was dark,
and it was also unseen.

Hush little girl,
don't say a word.
Of all this abuse,
it can never be heard.

Gang raped at age 16,
by same guy and his friend.
Don't you tell anyone,
in fear of retaliation.

Hush little girl,
don't say a word.
Of all this abuse,
it can never be heard.

Keep it all to yourself,
Like a book on the shelf.
Pay him back as best you can,
he was never really your friend.

Hey little girl with tearful eyes,
look up in the bluest skies.
As you slumber never forget,
it is he who has to live with regrets.

Take a smile that is owed to you,
it is he who has to pay his dues.
Never feel guilty for what he did,
you were nothing but a shy little kid.

Now that you are grown up,
and have become so brave.
Pay him back real good,
make him take guilt to his grave.

Author Notes:
Sadly I will say that the above poem is true accounts
of what i went through growing up and by the grace
of God I managed to survive, but many don't !
The picture of the little girl is really a picture of me!
I know that family members and neighbors and others
had to have had a clue of  the abuse in my home and  they
chose to turn their backs and pretend they did not see it!
I forgave my daddy for the beatings and mental abuse,
before he died and as for the guys who raped me,
I have confronted them one by one, I want them to know
that that little girl never forgot what they did to her,
nor have I forgotten the two out of the four that
had a change of heart and saved my life, because they
had planned to rape me , beat me and leave me for dead,
two did rape me,but thanks to the other two I lived!

Please Don't Turn Your Back And Ignore What You See!!!
