CanAm Bowl X
The CanAm Bowl is an annual football game played between graduated all-star players from the United States and Canada.  The game is hosted by a program in Saskatchewan, the only Canadian province that currently has sixman football.  In the United States, Texas, New Mexico, Montana, Kansas, Nebraska, and Colorado currently have team with other numerous other states starting programs up.
The Can Am Bowl began in July of 1997 when an American All-star team made the trip to Canada to play a Saskatchewan All-star team in Porcupine Plain, Saskatchewan hosted by Bjorkdale.  The USA won that inaugural game 40 - 22.
Porcupine Plain hosted Can Am Bowl II which the USA won 72 - 12.  Outlook (LCBI) would host Can Am Bowl III with the USA winning 49 - 48 in an overtime thriller.    Canada would get their first victory in Can Am Bowl IV when Eatonia hosted the game, winning 28 - 6.  Carrot River hosted Can Am Bowl V which the USA won 23 - 18.  Central Butte would be the hosts of Can Am Bowl VI with the USA emerging victorious.  Watrous would host Can AM bowl VII which the USA won 40 - 20.  Outlook were the hosts of Can Am Bowl VIII in 2004 and Team Canada would earn its second victory 61 - 28.  Raymore were the hosts of the last game, Can Am Bowl IX, with Canada earning their second straight victory with a 27 - 15 win in 2005.

This year's game, Can Am Bowl X, will be held in Kelliher, Saskatchewan on July 8, 2006.  The Kelliher/Ituna Cobras football team, this year's hosts, are a co-op program from the communities of Kelliher and Ituna.  The Canadian team will be picked following a sel
ection camp that will be held in Saskatoon in mid-May.  The team is normally announced sometime after Senior Bowl.  The USA team will be carry out their own selection process with the USA coaches heading that up.
The confirmed members of the coaching staff for Team Canada are Chris Spencer (Kelliher/Ituna Cobras), Jaret Ross (Kelliher/Ituna Cobras), Jason Boyda (Preeceville Panthers) and Carey Smith (Aden Bowman Bears - formerly Kelliher/Ituna Cobras). The Team USA head coach is Toby Tucker of the Wheeler (Texas) Mustangs.
The Kelliher/Ituna Cobras are excited to host this fine event.  Both host communities will be working hard to put on an event that is fitting the tenth edition of this great game.
