I want you to know that you can avoid the scams.  Save your money.  You don't have to pay  for information on how to work from home.  You can make money right from home.

I have created this site with those individuals in mind who, like me, are interested in making some extra money by working at home, using the internet.  When I began to search for ways to earn cash online I found scam after scam, and lost money instead of making it.  I learned about the "get paid to" industry and began doing research to investigate these types of programs and how they worked.  I joined forums, talked to other members about making money from home and learned whatever I could before I dared to invest any of my time and effort in them.  Please do as I have done and use whatever resources you can to research any opportunities you may find.  There are many websites that will ask you for money in order to provide you with their information on how to make your income from home.  Don't pay them a dime!  Whether it is a "get paid to read" program or a company that pays you to take surveys, they are free to join, free to be a member, and never charge you anything.

What Are GPT Sites?

So, what am I talking about?  What is GPT?  GPT stands for Get Paid To.  In general a GPT program can be any type of program that offers their members cash rewards for performing simple online tasks, such as visiting websites, or completing surveys.  You will notice as you visit many of these types of websites that many abbreviations are used.  Here is a list of some of the more common ones you will see:

• GPT   get paid to
• PTR   paid to read
• PTC   paid to click
• PTP   paid to promote
• PTP   paid to post

How Do GPT Sites Work?

Companies use GPT sites as a way of marketing their services and products. These companies pay the GPT sites to have consumers like you and me see advertisments for their product or service.  The GPT site then passes some of that money on to you as a reward for participating.

What about scams?

The best piece of advice I can give you is to read the rules at each site you join!  Read the FAQs section, Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy.  There are many sources I use to find which sites have a reputation of being scams, have been boycotted, are known not to pay, and the sites that do pay.  My favorites are the Blacklist of PTR which is updated frequently.  You can also use the WhoIs Source at Domain Tools.  The boycott list, the watch list and which sites have the BeenPaid Seal of Approval.

How much money can I make?

You will find that each program pays differently.  When you are joining any program read their FAQs to get an idea of what they will pay you, when and how.  Some sites will pay by check, others only by PayPal and yet others may pay you only with points.  Points are used to convert to cash or to use for purchasing items or gift cards or to do your own advertising.

The websites that pay you to take surveys and participate in trial offers pay anywhere from $0.25 a survey to $50.00 to do a trial offer.   Some 'paid to post' programs will pay you a penny for each post while others can pay you much more.  PTR programs usually pay from 1/4 cent per ad viewed to 5 cents each.  Many sites claim to pay more, some even $100.00 per email read.  Please be wary of any program who makes these types of claims.  They would have to charge huge fees to anyone wanting to advertise on their site to then be able to pay you a high fee for viewing that advertisers site.  What advertiser is willing to pay such exorbitant fees for every click to view their ad? 

Why bother for mere pennies?

Making money from these types of programs can actually be quite lucrative.  The way that you can earn more than just a few pennies or dollars here and there is to build a large downline or what are known as referrals.  When you refer someone, such as a family member or a friend to join the same program you are using, you then will earn a commission from the amount that they earn.  When joining many of these types of programs and having large downlines in each one, you can actually earn $100.00s if not $1,000.00s a month.   Remember as with any prospect you undergo, you will see more reward for more effort, whether it's a paid to read program that you have joined or a venture to begin your own home business.  You are not going to "get rich quick" with paid to programs.  However if you work them, promote them, and stay with it, you can earn money just by doing the types of things that you already do online everyday, whether it is reading emails, participating in trial offers or posting in a forum or a blog.
