Jo's FAVOURITE PLACES....
Surprise View, Otley Chevin, West Yorkshire
Surprise View is one of my favourite places in the UK. On a clear day you can see for miles and miles. Over to the left there are views of Beamsley Beacon and Ilkley Moor. Centre stage is the town of Otley in the valley below, with the River Wharfe snaking itself in and out. If you travel north of Otley you will come across reservoirs such as Lindley, Swinsty and Fewston as well as the infamous Thruscross Reservoir in the beautiful Washburn Valley. Looking north east, Almscliffe Crag is on the horizon but with a pair of binoculars on the clearest days, you can see the White Horse at Kilburn beyond that. Views east, again with binoculars, York Minster can sometimes be seen.
