CAP DE FORMENTOR and..
Mirador des Colomer
This is an absolutely smashing day out - even better when the sun is shining. It is almost impossible to take a bad photograph up here - and the opportunities are endless. All you need is a steady driver with lots of common sense and nerves of steel!!!

A 6km drive up to the mountains out of Puerto Pollensa brings you to a car park, invariably busy with cars and coaches in the middle of summer. Park up and walk along the stone path to the old watchtower and enjoy the stunning views. There is a mobile shop in the car park but no toilets so don't stop for too long!
Road To Cap de Formentor
Continue along the road from the Mirador des Colomer. It will take a while along roads which get thinner and higher and more curly with hairpin bends. Some of the curves where you are at the outer edge do not have barriers and if you meet a car coming the other way at the same time it can be a bit precarious; however everyone is in the same boat so you find that they all drive with the same degree of caution! It is well worth it in the end...
At the Cap...
There's a cafe and toilets at the top with a shop selling ice creams, souvenirs and camera batteries. If there ever was a time for the camera batteries to go flat now is not it! More stunning views can be seen from here and you can sit and relax and steel yourself for the drive back...
Back down to Puerto Pollensa
Driving back down the mountains afforded us with more great views - especially as we were coming back down into Puerto Pollensa....
