Special needs park playdates ~ where our kids can just be kids

Once again it is summer and time for our Playground group to start. This coming Saturday June 21st will be our first Playground Group of the Summer!

Join us for fun mornings of sharing and support.
Meet other parents and families.
Relax while your child enjoys the outdoors and plays with new friends

*Please note the park we are meeting at, and meeting time, has changed, so read the instructions below carefully.

   All abilities welcome.

All kids need down time, especially those who spend hours of their week in a variety of therapies. However, often, parents find that helping our children navigate playstructures and social interaction can lead to awkward situations. Park playdates don't have to be stressful. Join us each Saturday morning at 1.p.m-3pm at in Canyon Trail Park, El Cerrito.

Directions from Pinole: Take 80 (heading towards Oakland) get off at Cutting Blvd. Make a left under the overpass onto Cutting. Make a right onto San Pablo. Go up San Pablo to Hill Street. Make a left on Hill. (You will see Target on your left as you approach Hill from San Pablo) Go up Hill to Richmond (there will be a light there). Make a left onto Richmond. Go up Richmond and bear Right, it will become Cutting. Make a left where you see the sign for Canyon Trail Park, which will be Hagen Street. Go up Hagen till you see the Park. There is parking along side the park and bathroom facilities there.

Directions from Oakland: Take 80 (heading towards Sacramento) get off at Portrero. Stay in the middle Lane and stay straight. You will see OSH hardware Store on your right. Keep going straight. Go straight, you will be on Hill street. Go up Hill, to Richmond (there will be a light there). Make a left onto Richmond. Go up Richmond and bear Right, it will become Cutting. This park has a large open area grassy area for kids to play in, as well as, a lovely play structure which is fenced somewhat, but not completely. There are also pinic tables and plenty of trees for shading. Our playground group will meet as weather permitts. This means: if it is rainy, overcast, or ugly, we will not meet. However, parents can come and have their own group if they wish. However, we will not be there. So, again, this group meets only if the weather is good.

Bring bubbles, snacks, and lots of smiles.
