I cant stand when people try to say television or movies or video games make their kids do stuff. That's just dumb. It's the parents fault for not raising their kids right. If you got bad ass kids then its your fault. Parents have to teach their kids manners and morals and all that good stuff. A parent should know what a child is spending their money on. Parents should regulate what their child see. if you don't want them watching a show then turn the damn t.v. off. If you don't want them listening to certain music or playing certain games then don't buy it for them and if you buy them stuff make sure you know what the hell it is first. It is that simple. People are in control of their own minds and bodies. A television show cant make you do anything unless you are super weak and in that case you may need someone to hold your hand threw life. I don't care if it was even my own brother who set himself on fire and said he saw it on a show. id say " I love you bro but you got what you deserve." Even 8 year olds should know not to put gasoline over themselves and then light it.

All the other groups-Irish, Italians, Vietnamese, whatever- may have come here destitute, but they brought one thing with them. Their natinal identities. Their sense of self. They congregated together in the cities and on the planins, like with like. They maintained their cultural identities-religoins,customs,names- until they were secure enough to assimilate. Blacks had no chance to do that.They were stolen from their country, brought here in chains, sold as property. Their families split, their religion beaten out of them, their names changed. Nothing was left. No identity. And they've never recovered."

"And you parallel that with Naive Americans?"

"It's the same experience, only in reverse. The Indians weren't stolen from their land, their land was stolen from them. And their culture was systematically destroyed. They've never recovered either, despite a host of government programs to help them."

Caitlen stops writing. "Thats an interesting analogy."

" If you dont know who you are, you cant find your way.There are exceptions, of course. Bright spots. But my point is that whites dont look at blacks with the right perspective. We see look at them like an immigrant group that cant get its shit together."

Racism and why not many people seem to want to talk about it. It is a problem that has to be addressed sooner or later. i heard this one kids say that there was a lot of Racism against white people and it wasn't;t fair or some crap. I was like there is discrimination, prejudice, and stereotyping of everyone by everyone. Not much actual Racism. Even against black people. There is a lot of stereotyping though.

I hung out with Ghetto folks before and I hung out with some caucasian skater types before too. Most were surprised by me. They already thought they knew how i was going to be and what type of music i was going to like and what type of clothes I was going to be wearing. they were wrong, lol. we were good friends too. That's mostly because i am such an open minded person.I am not the type of person who will put another persons music or style of dress down, even if I don't like it. I can argue any side of an argument even if i disagree. I can see other sides of things not just my own side.
