"I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.
I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish enough "Hello's" to get you through the final "Goodbye."
Messengers Of Light
By: Joseph J. Mazzella
I met another
angel in disguise the other day. This one came in the form of a
beautiful little who couldn’t have been more than 7 years old. I
saw her at the local library hiding behind the back of a couch. As I
walked by she popped up suddenly and smiled at me. "I know who you
are", she said. I laughed and asked her who I was. "You mean you don’t
know!", she said. She then flashed her bright smile at me one more time
before running off giggling.
This little angel
left me with a smile on my face, a light in my mind, and a question in
my soul. Who am I? Who are any of us really? Are we these bodies that
carry us around everyday or are we more than that? Are we our jobs and
professions or are those just things we do? Are we our families,
nationalities, and skin color or are those just more ways that we label
ourselves? Are we our personalities, egos, and experiences or are those
things less than we are too?
I think that we
are all of these things, but that we are much more than them as well. I
think that if we look deeply enough inside ourselves we can see beyond
these surface things to our very souls. I think too that if we do we
will find out who we really are: beings of light, love, and joy. We are
not just people struggling through our lives here on Earth. We are also
Children of God and angels in disguise connected to each other by the
most powerful force in the world: God’s love.
God is love and
God is light ,and we are all here to share in that love and light as
well. It is God’s love and light that not only connects us with
everyone in this world, but with our own highest selves as well. We all
need to cherish that connection and do all we can to spread that love
and light to the world. The word angel means messenger. May we all
follow that little angel ’s example then and be messengers of love,
laughter, and light in this world.
You haven’t heard anything yet
By: Joseph J. Mazzella
I talked to my Aunt on the phone again today.
I always feel so much better after hearing her gentle voice.
Her contagious laughter, kind words, and unconditional love always uplift my soul
and always bring me so much happiness.
She is such a blessing to me, her children, her grandchildren, her friends, her church,
her community, and everyone that she meets.
She has more energy, vitality, and joy at 80 than most people have at 20.
She does more good, spreads more cheer, and touches more hearts than I could ever hope to.
She is still singing the sweet song of her life ,
and its beautiful and joyous music continues to touch the hearts and souls of all who hear it.
I only hope that my life’s song can one day be half as beautiful as hers’. I know one thing for sure, however.
I will never stop singing it.
I will sing it with all my heart whether I live another 4 days or another 40 years.
Walt Whitman once wrote: "The strongest and sweetest songs yet remain to be sung.
" I want my own life’s song then to grow stronger in joy and sweeter in love each and everyday.
I want my own life’s song to reach the ears, hearts, and souls of everyone I meet.
I want my own life’s song to spread God’s love and Heaven’s music for all of my days.
Each of us has a beautiful song within ourselves just waiting to be sung.
Don’t go to your grave with your song still inside of you. Start singing it today.
Let it flow from your heart, soul, and life. Let it bring your sweet music to the world.
Let it bring the notes of your love, joy, and oneness with God to everyone you meet.
Let it fill the air with every good thing that is within you.
Then when someone comes up to you and asks you how your life is going you can honestly say, "You haven’t heard anything yet!"
Something I said?
By Bob Perks
I pass hundreds of people everyday. I see their faces for a
moment and they move on. Nothing particular s in my mind.
But when I stop and say "hello!" it's different. I permit myself
to be exposed to someone else by acknowledging their existence.
I didn't just pass him by.
"Was it something I said?"
Could it be that we need to speak in order to connect?
But would you speak to me? Seriously. If we were passing by
each other on the street, would you say something to me? Not now
because you've come to know me. I mean if you and I had never met
before, even on the internet, would you say a word to touch my
heart? Would you, say "hello!" and break the silence of the
awkward moment? Would you at least acknowledge me with a smile?
Why do I ask this?
You see, until just yesterday I had no faces to connect with.
Until I announced the "Friends I've never met" photo album, each and
every one of you were just email addresses. Some with names, most
with simple letters or only personal to you combinations and the "@"
sign dot com.
"Was it something I said that made you stop and listen some more?
Were there the right combination of words and thoughts that made you
feel like I was "okay."
Was there something in the way I said it all that made you want to read what I had written?
Until yesterday, I knew you were real, but it all lacked the stuff of two human beings connecting.
Today, as I added even more pictures to my album, I was suddenly taken
by surprise. I literally gasped for air as I looked over the
faces and names of those who sent pictures to me.
"My goodness, she likes what I write!"
"Lord! He reads my stories and likes them, too?"
There were families who have opened their hearts to me. There
were couples who both read my stories. There where beautiful
young ladies and handsome young men, who said that they enjoyed my work.
For some I knew their name and now saw their faces for the very first time.
"You? You have written to me many times and we talked of worldly
things and places we dreamed about. That's you, my friend?"
Then I started thinking . (Perhaps I do that way too much)
What if you and I passed each other at the mall, or stood next to each other on a crowded train.
What if I sat down next to you at the park? Would you and I have
spoken? Or would I have missed a great opportunity to know you
like I have come to know you?
Imagine then, how many incredible opportunities you and I have lost
because we didn't speak to the person next to us. Imagine the
world we could have know in the life of that woman who sat next to you
on the bus? Or the worldly guidance you could have gained from
the man who delivered your oil. What wonderful perspective would
he have on life that just might have changed yours that day.
The point is, I didn't know you looked so beautiful my dear
friends. I am so sorry that I hadn't asked sooner for your
picture.
Your children give me hope, your smile makes my day ahead seem hopeful,
your family tells me that the world will be alright after all.
Imagine then the great loss for me if you had just passed me by.
Imagine...we met because it was "Something I said."
"I believe in You!"

* May you always feel loved
May you find serenity and tranquillity
in a world you may not always understand.
May the pain you have known
and the conflict you have experienced
give you the strength to walk through life
facing each new situation
with optimism and courage.
Always know that there are those
whose love and understanding
will always be there
even when you feel most alone.
May you discover enough goodness in others
to believe in a world of peace.
May a kind word, a reassuring touch,
a warm smile, be yours every day of your life,
and may you give these gifts as well as receive them.
Remember the sunshine when the storm seems unending.
Teach love to those who know hate,
and let that love embrace you as you go into the world.
May the teaching of those you admire
become part of you,
so that you may call upon them.
Remember, those whose lives you have touched
and who have touched yours are always a part of you,
even if the encounters were less
than you would have wished.
May you not become too concerned
with material matters, but instead place
immeasurable value on the goodness in your heart.
Find time in each day to see the beauty
and love in the world around you.
Realize that each person has limitless abilities,
but each of us is different in our own way.
What you may feel you lack in one regard
may be more than compensated for in another.
What you feel you lack in the present
may become one of your strengths in the future.
May you see your future
as one filled with promise and possibility.
Learn to view everything
as a worthwhile experience.
May you find enough inner strength
to determine your own worth by yourself,
and not be dependent on another's judgements
of your accomplishments.
May you always feel loved.

Grateful For Her Beauty:
(David Wilcox)
The night I saw her dancing
She moved in liquid music
Like every song that moved us
Was the music of her soul
And waking up at sunrise
With the sunlight through her window
I pulled aside the curtain
Far away from home
When she danced
She knew the music
Like the waving of a wheat field
Gives the hidden wind away
So I'm so grateful for her beauty
And I knew she could not stay
Just the fragrance of her memory
In the satin and the velvet
Time split through a prism
And I knew that she was gone
But I found the note she'd written
If my heart could dare to trust her
Through the journey in the darkness
She'd be with me in the dawn
When she danced
The music knew her
Like the instruments were listening
To the motion that she played
I'm so grateful for her beauty
And I knew she could not stay
So I stepped out on the sidewalk
And I closed the door behind me
Following a fragrance
That was carried on the wind
And I knew I'd never reach her
'Cause the starlight was the distance
But I knew that right beside me
Was where she'd always been
Now when we dance
She moves right through me
I know love is coming to me
From the promise that she gave
So I'm so grateful for her beauty
'Cause it made my heart so brave

Happiness
Learn how to be happy with what you have while you pursue all that you
want.
Happiness is not an accident. Nor is it something you wish for.
Happiness is something you design.
How sad to see a father with money and no joy. The man studied
economics,
but never studied happiness.
The greatest source of unhappiness comes from inside.
Happiness is the art of learning how to get joy from your substance.
Happiness is not something you postpone for the future; it is something
you design for the present.
Jim Rohn
Make a difference
A man was walking down a deserted Mexican beach at sunset. As he walked
along he began to see another man in the distance. As he grew nearer he
noticed that the local native kept leaning down, picking something up,
and throwing it out into the water. Time and again he kept hurling
things out into the ocean. As our friend approached even closer he
noticed that the man was picking up Starfish that had washed up onto the
beach, and one at a time, he was throwing them back into the ocean. The
first man was puzzled. He approached the man and said, "Good Evening
Friend, I was wondering what are you doing?"
And he replied, "I'm throwing these Starfish back into the ocean. You
see, it's low tide right now and all these Starfish have been washed up
onto the shore. If I don't throw them back into the sea, they will die
from the lack of oxygen."
"I understand" my friend replied "but there must be thousands of
Starfish on this beach and you couldn't possibly get to all of them.
They're are simply to many and don't you realize that this is happening
on hundreds of beaches up and down this coast... can't you see that
that you can't possibly make a difference?
The local native smiled, bent down, picked up yet another Starfish and
as he threw it back out into the sea, he replied, "It made a difference
to that one!"
You may feel like you cannot make a difference in the world today, but
you CAN make a difference in one life at a time.

* Innocence Protected
He watched her closely,
from his spot on the sand,
as she frolicked in the water,
splashing water with her hand.
She was a beauty,
hair haloed by sunlight,
her wonderful body,
a pedophiles pure delight.
Made a child / woman,
by the suit that she wore,
in a thong and a halter,
she paraded the shore.
Oh this poor little girl,
barely reaching birthday 8,
dressed by her parents,
as if she were bait.
How can parents,
be so unaware,
when they dress their child,
to make people stare.
The monsters of this world,
aren't hiding under the bed,
they are where children are,
their reach is widespread.
So keep a watchful eye,
don't put them on display,
guard them with your life,
keep them innocent one more day.

* My Mirror and Me
Author unknown to me
Mirror, mirror on the wall
You're not playing fair at all
I'm really now upset with you
For giving your distorted view
You show my hair is turning gray
It's just the way the shadows play
I know that you're not hanging straight
To make me look so over weight
The way you show a double chin
Is just the way the light comes in
I think I'm fine, but you're so wise
To put such accent on my thighs.
I wish you'd try to be my friend
And tell me I'm a little thin
Just tell me I look good in jeans
And frilly shirts and pretty things.
Please don't let the wrinkles show
I'd like to have a pretty glow
I see you won't respond at all
So I'll just tear you off the wall.
