EMS is a broad term that describes a range of medical services. The most common use is to describe ambulance services. EMS also includes police departments, fire departments, rescue squads, hospital emergency room staffs and dozens of other agencies and organizations that provide emergency care to the sick and injured.
My primary focus in EMS at this time is as a student. I am enrolled in the Paramedic A.A.S. program at Century College in White Bear Lake, MN. The program is challenging but is considered one of the best paramedic training programs in the United States. Century has a nation-wide reputation for turning out excellent paramedics. See the link page for more information.
I am also proud to be a member of the staff of the Princeton, MN Region of North Memorial Medical Transportation. I have been there since April of 2002. The Region includes the cities of Princeton, Zimmerman and Milaca, MN and is just the right mixture of rural and suburban areas. Our Region handles over 2000 calls for service per year. I have gained tons of invaluable experience working there.
