Sun Flowers in a California garden

Hello, my name is Miguel AKA Michael and I live in Stockton, California. If you do not know where that is, well it's in Northern California. This maybe surprising to you, but I'm a male teenager at age 17 and just turned 17 years old in December of 2006. I love gardening and I really have a passion when it comes to me growing Sunflowers. I love growing sunflowers in my garden and yes you read that correctly, I have a garden in my backyard.... It's about 80ft wide and I grow many types of different flowers too. I have sunny a side and a shady side in my garden due to walnut trees providing shade. There are tons of these trees growing all around Stockton, CA. I don't know why, but just a little odd to note. They grow pretty tall too, over 70ft at best from what I'm seeing. Anyways, I love to grow Sunflowers and I've been growing them since I was in 5th grade, currently a junior. The sunny side of my garden is only Sunflowers. I only grow sunflowers in that spot, but I have a variety of sunflowers. From the Common Sunflower to the Paul Bunyan which is my main Sunflower I grow in my garden. I love growing that type since it's fun creating a large tropical like Sunflower forest. It's so much fun to see what happens, because every year it's so different and I do enjoy that greatly.
I have plans for the growing season of 2007 to start growing much more of the German Sunflower. I have grown the German sunflower off and on through-out my years of growing plants. I am now focusing on them this year to see what I can expect. In 2006 I got a few healthy beautiful sunflowers that came out great with a pretty light green in the middle of the flower. I also grow Calla Lilies and Geraniums in the garden and many types of California Native Wild flowers.

I created this website for my own use, but anybody who does come around. Please leave some feedback if you would like. I just wanted to have a place to come to during the winter months and see what I have accomplish and maybe what I can do better and what I can fix on.
