Cadaran Stud

This page is a tribute to those horses and ponies who have enriched our lives in so many ways, and are now galloping around in the great meadow in the sky. We will not forget them.

Joss

Joss was put to sleep in May 2005. He was a beautiful Cleveland bay x TB who was Lis's riding horse for 11 years.

Cadaran Nutcracker

We lost Dylan in May 2005 after he contracted an infection in his tendon sheath following an accident in the field. He was only just over a year old and was developing into a beautiful pony.

Court Card

Queenie died one morning in August 2004 with 3 month old Dylan at foot. She was a wonderful mare who was a great mother.

Smokey

Little Smokey was an elderly grey pony well into his thirties, who came to us for respite care in the final stages of cancer. He had a very fulfilled life, teaching numerous children to ride, giving an enormous amount of pleasure to all those who knew him.  He was a very sweet old gentleman and although he was with us for less than a year, his impact on us was memorable.

Edward

Edward had a very full and busy life when he was young. He did all aspects of Pony Club, showing and taught lots of children to ride.  When  the last of his owners' family went off to university Edward moved in with us and spent his last years at the stud being a patient and amenable granddad for the youngsters.

Zephyr

Zephyr was a gentle chestnut arab type gelding who in his younger days had excelled at dressage. His owner had died and a loving home was needed for him. Unfortunately we found that he had developed a severe ringbone which resulted in chronic lameness and we had to say goodbye to him soon after acquiring him.
