CABRILLO MARCHING BAND 2009
Each band member in the Cabrillo Marching Band has a responsibility to pay all necessary fees and help with the collective fundraising efforts.
Activity fees: $200/student
The cost of transportation and travel to competitions and events, equipment, entry fees, uniform maintenance, music, and additional staff are not paid for by the school district, so we must come up with the money. This activity fee also covers the cost of the casual uniform shirt and gloves. Students have the opportunity to fundraise to help pay for the activity fee (see below).
Shoes: $20 The glide step marching shoe is part of the uniform. If a student finds an old pair in the box, he or she can use that pair and not have to buy new shoes. Many students use shoes from their previous years. All new members must purchase the glide step dinkle marching shoe.
Please make all checks payable to
Alternatives to paying the activity fee through fundraising:
Black and Gold Discount Card
The instrumental music department sells a discount card featuring great deals from local businesses. Students sell the $7 cards and they can be used at the businesses shown on the back of the card to receive discounts. Students will be put on the debt list for lost or unreturned cards.
Students will also have the opportunity to pay fees through working in the school cafeteria. The band has reserved a couple weeks in which each student that works makes $7 per shift. Interested students will have a chance to sign up for slots during band camp.
Lunch Shifts
All students need to pay the $200 activity fee for the semester. It is up to the students and the parents whether or not they want to utilize the fundraising opportunities we offer. It is recommended to sell as many cards as you can, because you can use additional money for spring trips.
Students can pay for entire trips through effective fundraising!
