Recent enforced changes to BATracer.com

Due to issues that most users of BATracer.com know about, BATracer has had to go through many changes effecting the overall appearance and other aspects of the game. At present the only changes here are the new car templates available in the new version of LMES.

The original liveries for DTM, GP2 and LMES are now available from each carset album. These are the designs that were available at the sign up page when joining a carset, but due to the recent changes you can now only use them if you have KT and upload them. This work was done by the creators of those carsets including Matt Simons and others at The BATracer Workshop.

About BATracer livery designs

If you donate to, or sponsor the site, you unlock Kool Tools, this enables you a number of extra features including uploading your own designed livery for your race car from some of the carsets that have an uploadable feature like  ChampCar, Trans-AM, DTM or GP2, instead of  using the limited in game designs. These few pages are just somewhere to gather all designs that have been done and have been/will be raced by me and also some talented designers that take part in the game and have helped create some of these carsets. If you have Kool Tools but can't be bothered to design a livery, then feel free to use any you see, but please respect that these designs have taken their creators time and here for use on BATracer only.

**TERMS OF USE: All of the images of the carset yellow templates and livery designs have been designed especially for BATracer, taking the artists own spare time and effort. These templates and liveries are available to be downloaded by anyone with the intention to be used in the BATracer game only!!! If you would like to use these templates anywhere other than BATracer you MUST ask permission first, which you can do so by visiting the BATracer Forum and posting in the off-topic section.**

Any comments, spotted errors, or questions you can contact me via PM on the BATracer game (Craig Nayler). You will need an account with the game to do so.

User Scripts for Name Changes

One of the other main changes to BATracer was the removal of manufacturer names from the game. Thanks to some players of BATracer there is now a 'User Script' that replaces the fake names back to the original names that could be found in game previously. This user script is not endorsed, recommended or supported by BATracer in any way and any use is down to the individual. The user script changes the names back on the users computer only, so if you use more than one computer then you would need to install on all these computers. The user script may not work on all types of browser. Depending on your PC specs you may notice some slow down when pages are loading especially on the larger races like LMES races or Oval races.

FireFox users

Internet Explorer Users

Chrome Users
  • Once dev channel is installed, open the properties of your Chrome shortcut and add --enable-user-scripts to the target path: mine thus reads C:\Users\haha, nice try\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe --enable-user-scripts
  • Save the user script into C:\Users\lolz\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\user Data\Default\User Scripts\, creating the User Scripts folder if necessary
  • Restart Chrome if you had it open in step 2.
Opera/Safari Users

At present there doesn't seem to be any easy way to get the user scripts to work on these browsers. If you use Safari on a Mac then you can take a look at: How to run Grease Monkey scripts in Safari

  •  For any problems check out the thread on the BATracer forum about the script at: http://pow.ftlog.com/$1N//-ff?-fi?1&../7U2/-ft&../7U2/-fm?0   You can also check this thread for any updates to the script or by looking on the user script page linked above and looking for the last update, just under the script title.

Site Features

  • Original DTM, GP2 and LMES Liveries: All the original liveries that were once available at the sign up stage of these carsets are now available in their own albums. This work was done by the creators of those carsets including Matt Simons and others at The BATracer Workshop.
  • Latest Releases: 5 carsets!  Since the end of May 5 new carsets have been released, all of them with the option of uploading your own livery. The yellow templates from all the new sets are available from the 'Carset Templates' option top left. DTM and GP2 have an album with liveries available to use now. Trans-Am and F3 and albums will be available soon. These new albums also include work from the carset creators and some of BATracers finest livery makers as well as some of my own.
  • Champcar Version2.0: A new version of the Champcar carset has now been released with new races at Miami and Indy that were not included on the first version. The other big difference is the graphics update to the cars. Thanks to the work of Mariusz Pieczar they are a vast improvement over the first version and although you may be able to get the older V1.0 liveries from this site to fit the cars they might not be that accurate. So now there is an album of designs on the newer templates. Some work are mine, but most have been provided by Shane Van Rooy (Rooster).
  • MR2 series: This is a fictional series based on Toyota's succsesfull 2-seater coupe the MR2.  The templates for all the cars are available from the template album. MR2 Livery album
    •  MK3 Road car (softtop and hardtop): These two versions of the Mk3 road car are the same apart from the black vinyl roof on the soft top. Because of this there will only be liveries using the hardtop template but this can be used for the soft top versions as well. Just save and upload to the game in the same way you would normaly. The game will place the black roof on the car.
  • Album pages, How to download:  The gallery of designs have been seperated into each of the uploadable carsets available and then (where applicable) into different classes or particular chassis. To use: click on the folder you want (BTCC = Touring/Production, Champcar = Lola/Penske/Reynard etc) and browse for the car you like. Click on the car to view a large image in the centre and then either right click and save image or click on the downwards arrow, bottom right of large image and then right click and save image.
  • Universal Liveries:   These Liveries can be used with any model in the relevant carset. Just upload straight to BATracer without having to do a thing. The game will chop and shade automatically. Because the cars vary in shape, the designs are more basic than tailored liveries. Both ChampCars and BTCC carsets are supported and can be found on the last page of their relevant carset pages.
  • A1 Grand Prix Liveries:  Wanted to join an A1 series? Seen the huge list of available countries/regions? Picked one and wished you chose a better livery? Now all the available A1 Team liveries are viewable before you join. Just click on the A1GP In Game Liveries link at the top of the page and choose the relevant page. The liveries are in groups of  7 in alphabetical order.
  • Original Carsets Templates:  Do you think you can do better? Inspired to design your own? Or are you frustrated that you have to join a series and pick your chosen car before you can even start on a design scheme? All the templates in their original yellow form can be found here. They now include the latest carset templates from DTM, GP, Ferrari Challenge, F3, Trans-Am. Templates for proposed carsets from the  'Fujitsu' V8 Series, V8 Brutes and The Renault Megane Cup can be found here. Although these series are not confirmed , they are ready to be added to the roster when and if the Devs decide. So heres your chance to be ready for them! The A1Gp template is added, but this cannot be uploaded to the game.
**TERMS OF USE: All of the yellow images of carset templates have been designed especially for BATracer, taking the artists own spare time and effort. These templates are available to be downloaded by anyone with the intention to be used in the BATracer game only!!! If you would like to use these templates anywhere other than BATracer you MUST ask permission first, which you can do so by visiting the BATracer Forum and posting in the off-topic section.**
  • Upload you own Liveries: After a few hosting problems the chance to upload your own liveries is back. Thanks to Yuri Laszlo and Nick Dibley, the BATracer Liveries and Helmet website is where you can upload your own liveries to an album for others to see and use in the game and because it has other peoples designs there are hundreds more liveries to choose from. You will need to register to upload designs. Click here to go to the website.
  • HOW: A How to guide has been added to the navigation bar above, left under How to guide. This is a quick guide to using  Microsoft Paint  and hint and tips on making liveries based upon questions I'm often asked.
  • New Liveries:  A latest liveries page has been added and will show any new liveries that have been added to the existing livery albums over the last month. If you save files from here remember to click on the picture until you see just the livery with a 'close window' button above and below the picture. If your browser does not allow you to right click and save the image , then goto the relevent carset gallery link at the top of the page  where the image will be found .
