By The Way Dobes was founded in 1999, after Tawnya fell in love with her first Doberman named Luke. We are a small operation focused solely on providing you with the perfect addition to your family. Our dogs are breed for temperament and health. They all live here in our home, actually we really live in their home. The dogs run the place around here. At this time there are three females that we use in our breeding program. They were all selected because of their dynamic personalities and laid back disposition. The Dobies also share our home with several other dogs. We also have Dachshunds and a couple of registered mutts. In addition to the other dogs we have two cats who don't really care for any of the dogs and make sure that they know it. Our girls are breed once a year or every other heat cycle. All of our dogs are bred for temperament and health. We will not breed any of our females to a male that does not pass a thorough personality test and does not have proper health records. All of our puppies are delivered and raised here in our home. They receive the best care and love possible. We do not let them leave here until they are between 6 to 8 weeks of age. We insure that they have the proper socialization and are weaned from mommy before they are can leave. This helps the puppy better adjust to their new family much better as they are more emotionally ready. We dock tails and take off dewclaws upon birth. We do not however do ears. We tend to like the more natural looking ears better and feel that the decision can be left up to the future buyer. We make sure that puppies are current on vaccinations and are wormed 2 to 3 times prior to leaving. Also all of our puppies come with a one year genetic health guarantee contingent on the purchaser having the puppy vet checked within 72 hours of signing the sales contract. The health guarantee entitles you to replacement of your puppy if their are any life threatening genetic health problems. In the three years that we have been in business we have not had one puppy returned. We just like to cover our basis in case of a problem arising.
