Byers FFA Takes Top Spot in 4th of July Parade

The Byers FFA Chapter took home the 1st place ribbon in the Float division of the Byers 4th of July Parade.  The float titled "FFA Hot Tub Party" was a huge hit.  The float was made up of hog pannels, one very good looking stock tank filled with water, and members in swim wear splaching and playing volleyball with red, white and blue beach balls. The members threw out over 800 suckers to spectators who came out to cheer and celebrate our nations independance! The chapter worked hard on the float building it in three days time and our hard work paid off when we won.  The chapter recieved an award certicicate and an trophy that will be proudly displayed in the classroom. As well, two chapter member logged four hours of community service hours with the Byers Street Decorating Committee.  President Ben Haight and Sentinal Justin Merrill took time out of their busy summer schedule to hand American Flags around the streets of Byers for the 4th celebration! Check out the Photo Gallery for pictures.
